Lewis Hamilton put pressure on himself when he came back down at the end of the back straight and hit the brakes at the place where he locked up the previous run.

My heart as in my mouth a little bit for him because he would've known that was the problem he had before, and he would’ve been praying that he got it right - and he did. That is the mark of a champion.

Ferrari use a different braking manufacture to Mercedes, so Lewis Hamilton's feel for the brakes and getting out of the habit of braking he's always been used to will take time. We've just seen him lock up, so I wonder if he'll mention that.

  18. 'Set-up changes'published at 21:21 British Summer Time 3 May

    Andrew Benson
    BBC F1 correspondent in Miami

Lots of teams have totally different set-ups for this session because you can change the car between the sprint race and grand prix qualifying. So lots of tinkering up and down the pit lane, especially for the teams who were unhappy with their cars.

For example. Lewis Hamilton, although he finished third for another great sprint result, Ferrari will still be looking for performance.

What's interesting is that none of the drivers can take any learnings from the sprint race into this session because we've got totally different conditions.
