Race stewards confirm that Lewis Hamilton is under investigation for failing to follow race director's escape road instructions.

Meanwhile, Lando Norris will be a little oblivious of all that's been going on behind him as he is 2.7s ahead of the rest.

"What are they doing about people who took advantage in turn one?"

Oh it is all over for Liam Lawson. He is out of his car after that front wing damage.

It's really scrappy racing here. Max Verstappen makes a lunge down the inside to Lewis Hamilton and they make slight contact.

Verstappen takes to the grass and Hamilton keeps it on the track and then Hamilton runs deep at Turn Four. It's very messy here.

Charles Leclerc delayed his move to the inside of the track making Lewis Hamilton go to the inside. That is not probably where Hamilton wanted to be.

Why hasn’t Verstappen been told to give that place back? He’s exceeded track limits at the very least!

Verstappen was fully ahead of Russell. He rightly gave the place back to Hamilton though. If Russell focused more on driving than whining he would be a great driver.

Crikey it is all happening here!

Max Verstappen makes a lunge on Lewis Hamilton, the two tussle as Verstappen slides wide and onto the grass after briefly getting into third.

Both then lock up and Hamilton is on the escape road into Turn 4 but manages to get back into third.

Oliver Bearman is the big winner of all that as he keeps out of the shenanigans to slip into fourth place, with Verstappen back to fifth!

Max is really chancing his arm by holding onto 4th place on track after missing Turns 1, 2 and 3.

Oscar Piastri tries to regain a place as he attempts a move on Yuki Tsunoda in eighth but he can't get it done. Piastri needs to get a move on because he's on softs which will degrade more quickly than Tsunoda's mediums.

The yellow flags are waved, presumably for some debris on the track and possibly from Liam Lawson's front wing.

Meanwhile, Lando Norris is building up a lead out in front and is almost two seconds ahead of Charles Leclerc.

There's damage to Liam Lawson's front wing and he is back in the pits to get that sorted.

It looked to me like Max Verstappen just committed to not braking early enough to make the corner and went for the grass.

He's gained a place on George Russell and I'm not surprised Russell is complaining about that.

  15. Team radio - Russellpublished at 20:07 GMT 26 October

"Verstappen just cut the corner, braked late and cut across the grass. At least the penalty will give the position back."

  16. Postpublished at Lap 3/71

Max Verstappen is up to fourth despite running wide at the first corner. George Russell, who is fifth, isn't happy with that.

Oscar Piastri has had a terrible start down in ninth spot at the moment.

I don't know how the stewards are going to make sure everyone is in the right position.

  18. Postpublished at Lap 2/71

Dreadful start by Oscar Piastri! He gets caught up in all the jostling in the middle and he has dropped to ninth.

Lance Stroll was also sent spinning into that first corner after some contact.

It is a great start by Lando Norris and he manages to hold onto first place into the first corner. Max Verstappen runs wide as he tries to make a move on the outside!
