Oscar Piastri doesn't look comfortable through Turn Two and Turn Three, he looks very tentative over the kerbs.

There is a kerb and then there's an inner sausage kerb. It looks like the quick drivers are getting more of their front-left tyre over the sausage and not taking as much of a hit over that kerb.

Only two drivers have not set a time yet and they are Kimi Antonelli and George Russell at Mercedes.

There's a bit of smoke coming out the back of Lando Norris' McLaren and he's going quite slowly around the track.

Something wrong? Doesn't appear so as a couple of laps later he goes third quickest, 0.037s off Carlos Sainz's time.

Fifteen minutes in and the McLarens head out for the first time.

Speaking of Charles Leclerc, he's dropped down to fifth quickest after faster laps from Tuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson.

Tsunoda is third quickest, half a second slower than his Red Bull team-mate Max Verstappen.

I fancy Charles Leclerc for a really decent qualifying, I just think that Ferrari looks very, very compliant.

It looks like he's able to place the car where he wants far more often than where Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris are able to.

Max Verstappen set his time on mediums but softs help to send Carlos Sainz top of the order as he does a 1:18.028, 0.023s quicker than Verstappen.

More times coming in now as Max Verstappen improves with 1:18.051.

Six tenths behind him are the two Ferraris, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton doing almost identical times.

There's smoke coming out of the back of Nico Hulkenberg's Sauber but seems likely that it could be some oil as his team seem unconcerned.

That is two laps in a row that Lewis Hamilton has had difficulty with the retardation of that Ferrari, it looks like he's really struggling to get the car stopped.

A big lock up by Lewis Hamilton and he is onto the grass as he cuts a corner. There's likely going to be some damage to the tyres from that.

This track gives the impression that it's going to have more grip than it actually does. That's the climate, the altitude and where it is, it's a challenge.

The Aston Martins are back out and now they are joined by championship hopeful Max Verstappen.

Verstappen is on mediums and he wasn't massively happy with the grip on those yesterday.

Go make a brew. Nothing to see here.

Lance Stroll is joined by Fernando Alonso but everyone else is staying in their respective garages for a bit longer.

Lando Norris is chatting away with his team and not even suited up yet, so he'll be a while yet.

A quiet start to the session as Lance Stroll is one of the few to head out early on.

    Who will be on pole?

Llyr: Charles Leclerc to battle for pole with Max Verstappen, but I think the McLarens will be on the second row.

Graham: Regrettably, Max Verstappen has the momentum and seemingly the writing is on the wall. McLaren boys need to work together for once.
