    Aston Martin also make a bit of a hash of their pit stop and Fernando Alonso has to twiddle his thumbs and wait to be released. The Spaniard is out of the top 10 and in 15th place.

    And here comes the second McLaren of Oscar Piastri. Should be a quick stop for the championship leader. Wait a minute, there's an issue! The Australian is stopped for longer than he would've liked and he heads into battle in fourth place behind Lando Norris. The left rear didn't want to play ball.

    McLaren have just delivered a long radio message to Lando Norris about when to pit. There's a lot to think about for the man sitting in second place in the title race, but he heads in and takes the hard tyre anyway. Out he comes in fourth place, making Oscar Piastri the defacto leader.

    There should be no concern for George Russell at this stage, he's building himself up a gap over Lando Norris.

    Even if Norris comes towards him a little bit, the Mercedes going into this weekend wasn't supposed to have great tyre longevity in comparison to the McLaren. Russell is doing a solid job.

    Mercedes have given the signal to George Russell to pit, so the Briton dives in with his 10-second gap and picks up the hard tyres on lap 26. He rejoins the track and is now in third place.

    The next to come in for a changeover is Lewis Hamilton, who now takes on a set of hard tyres after a slightly slow stop and the seven-time world champion is back out in ninth place, with Nico Hulkenberg his first target to overtake.

    Russell: "Yeah, this is my pace. My tyres are dropping."

    Over at Mercedes, leader George Russell is being kept up to date with how the rest of the field is getting on. But the Briton replies his medium tyres can't hold out much longer, telling his engineer they're starting to drop off.

    Verstappen: "I'll try, mate. But everything is working against me in this race."

    Max Verstappen has pitted already and is now banking the quickest laps of the race on his hard rubber. He needs to look after his tyres, however, as there's a long way to go in this race. The Dutchman is making his way up the order and is now sixth.

    Max Verstappen is already putting in massive sector times, he's purple in sector two and three.

    That is working really nicely for him, that is going to force McLaren to go long with both of those drivers.

    Lewis Hamilton is being chased down by Max Verstappen while his team-mate Charles Leclerc heads in for fresh rubber. The Monegasque man comes out behind the Sauber of Nico Hulkenberg, but he soon passes the German for ninth place. Leclerc has taken on a set of hard tyres.

    Max Verstappen picks up the pace as he now sits in seventh place behind the Ferrari of Lewis Hamilton, who is having a quiet race in Singapore. Lando Norris moves up to second and is 10 seconds off the Mercedes of George Russell.

    Oscar Piastri is leading the championship by 25 points from Lando Norris and after his frustrations with how the race start panned out, the Australian is keeping his nose close in fourth, trying to edge closer to his main title rival.
