  1. MacIntyre bags another birdiepublished at 17:20 British Summer Time 20 July

Bob MacIntyre has just found a fifth birdie of his round up at the 15th, his third of the back nine.

It's been a bit of a rollercoaster, but he's three under for his day and back into the top 10.

Another good showing on the links from the Scot.

  2. 'Textbook'published at 17:20 British Summer Time 20 July

    Scheffler -17 (12)

    Oliver Wilson
Former Ryder Cup player on BBC Radio 5 Live at Portrush

Scheffler just played really sensible golf down that par five, he took the bunkers out of play down the left side.

He eliminated all the mistakes and trouble that Li Haotong had and it was a textbook four.

Growing up I played the Tiger Woods game on the PlayStation. On easy mode I'd lead the field by about 10 shots at the end of round four. Scottie makes this game feel like a video game.

  4. Scheffler five in front againpublished at 17:18 British Summer Time 20 July

    Scheffler -17, Li -11 (12)

Scottie Scheffler chips up to eight feet and can he make his birdie four? Yes he can - the five-shot lead over Chris Gotterup is restored.

Li Haotong has a massive hill to negotiate with his putt from off the green and flashes it 20 feet by. So difficult to judge.

He doesn't hit the birdie try hard enough, so it'll be a par.

  5. Another birdie for Gotteruppublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 20 July

    English -11, Gotterup -12 (13)

Great tee shot from Chris Gotterup on 13 which leaves him just eight feet for birdie, which he duly rolls in to make back-to-back birdies and improve to 12 under.

That's just four shots behind, is there a contest brewing?

  6. Postpublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 20 July

    Scheffler -16, Li -11 (11)

Approaches to the 12th for the final group...

Scottie Scheffler misses left but will have an acre of green to work with as he attempts to get up and down in two for birdie.

Li Haotong looks on line but his ball catches a downslope and runs off to the right of the green.

  7. Birdie for Rorypublished at 17:11 British Summer Time 20 July

    McIlroy -9, Fitzpatrick -10 (12)

Lightning doesn't strike twice for Rory McIlroy on the 12th as he fails to find a way to get the ball in the hole from 50 feet away - so settles for a birdie four.

Matt Fitzpatrick can only make a par here after missing the green so he stays on 10 under after what's been a frustrating round for the Englishman, with some good stuff but just no real consistency.

  8. Postpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 20 July

    McIlroy -8, Fitzpatrick -10 (11)

Rory McIlroy finds the green with his second shot on the par-five 12th hole so he'll have to sink a monster putt of 52 feet to grab an eagle here.

He made one from 56 feet here yesterday... just saying.

  9. Postpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 20 July

    Scheffler -16, Li -11 (11)

Since that double bogey on that eighth, it's been birdie-par-par for Scottie Scheffler.

Another solid drive down the 12th finds the fairway, with Li Haotong doing likewise.

  10. 'Rory eagle would lift group'published at 17:05 British Summer Time 20 July

    McIlroy -8, Fitzpatrick -10 (11)

    Catriona Matthew
Captain of Team Europe at the 2019 & 2021 Solheim Cup on BBC Radio 5 Live

This group is lacking some energy, and that fizz and sizzle from the crowd is lacking. The players are looking a little disconsolate.

An eagle here from Rory would give this group a huge boost.

  11. Eagle for Englishpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time 20 July

    English -11, Gotterup -11 (12)

Just a birdie for Chris Gotterup as he misses right from 12 feet with his eagle try - but the big bird is landed by Harris English despite him being 32 feet away.

So both men walk off the green on 11 under and five off the leader.

  12. Li birdies 11published at 17:01 British Summer Time 20 July

    Scheffler -16, Li -11 (11)

Hello, Li Haotong! A putt drops from just off the 11th green for birdie to move him to 11 under.

Scottie Scheffler's birdie putt from 25 feet narrowly misses but it's a comfortable par for the leader.

  13. Eagle huntingpublished at 16:57 British Summer Time 20 July

    English -9, Gotterup -10 (11)

Chris Gotterup plays a brilliant second shot on 12 as he knocks his ball pin high and about 15 feet left of the flag as he looks to continue to tear up these par fives at Portrush.

He leads the field in par-five scoring with a remarkable 12 under par on these longer holes for the week.

Never mind, let's get Rory up against Scottie in the Ryder Cup!

There are scores out there as DeChambeau has shown. Sadly none of the main chasing pack have been able to string it together and put Scheffler under any pressure at all.

No embedded ball popped up this time down the right on 11 for Rory McIlroy.

But the wind's well and truly out of his sails now.

The contrast in excitement out here compared to yesterday is striking.

    The Scheffler effect.

  16. 'Scheffler will be one of the all-time greats'published at 16:54 British Summer Time 20 July

    More from Tommy Fleetwood:

On Scottie Scheffler: "He’s playing amazing stuff isn’t he? I think for all of us, it’s great we have a player of Scottie’s calibre to chase and look up to, to try to figure out.

"He’s a phenomenal golfer and nobody can take that away from him and we can keep striving to try to chase him.

"He’s on his way to us all looking back and saying Scottie Scheffler was playing in our generation and will be one of the all-time greats."

Fancy Ryder Cup singles against him in New York? "If I’m there, I’ll be happy to be playing. Again, moments like that you have to cherish and look forward to the opportunities."

  17. 'All gone flat for Rory'published at 16:54 British Summer Time 20 July

    McIlroy -8 (11)

    Graeme Storm
Two-time European Tour winner on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's all gone very flat for Rory.

The double bogey has killed his momentum, if he had any at all.

He's going to have to try and make another miraculous eagle at 12.

  18. Birdies requiredpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time 20 July

    McIlroy -8 Fitzpatrick -10 (11)

This pair go to the 12th, which is the par five and playing as the easiest hole on the course today at over half a stroke under par and 43 birdies today.

Both of these will be thinking a four at worst.

  19. Clark into share of secondpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 20 July

    Clark -10 (14)

We told you earlier about moves being made by Wyndham Clark, and the birdies have only continued for the American.

The 31-year-old has just tapped in from close range to go deeper into the red.

That's five under for the day, 10 under for the tournament and a share of second.

  20. Schauffele into share of second spotpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 20 July

Tyrrell Hatton has to take a penalty drop from the bushes on the 12th but makes a par five.

Defending champion Xander Schauffele is in for a birdie four that takes him into the group at 10 under.
