  1. Rai plods on with another parpublished at 22:43 British Summer Time 15 May

    Rai -3 (15*)

Aaron Rai keeps his fine round going with another par on the sixth, chipping from just off the green to within a couple of feet of the hole.

Six successive pars for the Englishman, who has three holes left to play.

  2. Par for the leaderpublished at 22:42 British Summer Time 15 May

    Davis -6 (17*)

Here's Cam Davis in the bunker short of the eighth green. His splash out scuttles a good 25 feet past the hole but he's got that for a birdie.

It's not a brilliant putt, doesn't threaten the hole but leaves him with two feet for par. I suspect he'd take another one on his closing hole.

  3. Birdie for JT and Morikawapublished at 22:40 British Summer Time 15 May

    Thomas +2, Morikawa -2 (15)

Collin Morikawa hits a 9/10 chip across the 15th green to leave himself four feet for birdie. In it pops.

Here's Justin Thomas from a bunker, to four feet and rolls in the birdie. Back-to-back and finishing well.

  4. Postpublished at 22:34 British Summer Time 15 May

    DeChambeau E, Hovland -1, Woodland +3 (12)

Viktor Hovland is having a nightmare few holes. Back-to-back bogeys and now he is club short off the tee at the 205-yard par-three 13th.

Instead of eyeing up a potential birdie he'll have a nasty shot, playing downwind out of the left greenside bunker.

Bryson also drifts off and will have to chip out of the gnarly stuff.

  5. Spieth stops the rotpublished at 22:31 British Summer Time 15 May

    Aberg -2, Reed +1, Spieth +3 (14)

Jordan Spieth ends a run of three successive bogeys with a birdie on the short par-four 14th, bringing him back to three over.

A birdie also for Ludwig Aberg, but Patrick Reed walks off with a five after finding the bunker off the tee.

  6. Postpublished at 22:30 British Summer Time 15 May

    Davis -6 (16*)

Cam Davis is away down the eighth, which at 342 yards is within range for the longest of hitters. The Aussie's drive is on line for the green but, sadly for him, a bunker gets in the way.

  7. Hovland falterspublished at 22:28 British Summer Time 15 May

    DeChambeau E, Hovland -1, Woodland +3 (12)

Bryson DeChambeau claims a par on the 12th. Brilliant.

Wonderful approach and then two putts from a monstrous 85 feet.

The American is now only a stroke adrift of Viktor Hovland who can't get up and down from the back of the green and makes a second consecutive bogey.

  8. Birdie for Hattonpublished at 22:25 British Summer Time 15 May

    Hatton -3, Scott -4 (15)

Adam Scott and Tyrrell Hatton both have tap-ins on the par-five 15th. Scott's is for a par, while Hatton is picking up a shot after finding the green in two and lagging a superb putt across the green.

    The Englishman is three back.

  9. Davis retains leadpublished at 22:22 British Summer Time 15 May

    Davis -6 (16*)

Cam Davis steadies the nerves and rolls in his par putt on the seventh. Two to play and he's in with a good shout of being in the overnight lead.

  10. Birdie for JTpublished at 22:21 British Summer Time 15 May

    Thomas +3, D Johnson +4, Morikawa -1 (14)

Collin Morikawa and Dustin Johnson can only par the driveable par-four 14th so stay as they were.

But Justin Thomas makes the most of almost driving the green. His chip on almost drops for an eagle, but it leaves him a tap-in for a welcome birdie.

  11. Postpublished at 22:19 British Summer Time 15 May

    DeChambeau E, Hovland -2, Woodland +3 (11)

Extraordinary. Bryson DeChambeau showcases his power after going well right off the tee.

Presented with a bit of tree trouble, in that his path towards the green is completely blocked, he simply decides to pitch his ball right over them, landing it on the front of the putting surface.

Meanwhile, Viktor Hovland has the same issue down the left side of the fairway but finds a gap only to zing his ball straight through what might as well have been the sprung dancefloor in the Ritz in Manchester, given the bounce.

  12. Postpublished at 22:17 British Summer Time 15 May

    Davis -6 (15*)

Is the pressure of leading the US PGA getting to Cam Davis? His chip from the cabbage on to the par-five seventh green is a shocker.

It's so bad he's already walking to his right and away from the hole. He knows where his ball is going. He started maybe seven yards from the hole but his chip is tentative, doesn't get up the slope and wanders way off to the right, to perhaps double the distance away.

He gives his birdie putt a rattle up the hill but still can't get it to the hole. We'll return to him, facing a four-footer for par.

  13. Spieth toilingpublished at 22:15 British Summer Time 15 May

    Spieth +4 (13)

Three consecutive bogeys now for Jordan Spieth, whose hopes of completing a career Grand Slam this week are slipping away.

He's 10 shots off the lead held by Cam Davis.

  14. Postpublished at 22:11 British Summer Time 15 May

    Davis -6 (15*)

When it's your day, it's your day. Cam Davis is a fraction short with his second into the seventh hole and his ball spins back off the green towards the water protecting it front right.

But there's a decent collar of rough and his ball snags in it. Lucky boy.

  15. Bogey for Kimpublished at 22:09 British Summer Time 15 May

    Kim -2 (12)

Tom Kim is hacking out of thick rough to the left of the 12th green and he gets his ball onto the short stuff and watches as it trundles beyond the pin and threatens to disappear off down a slope. He does one of those walking jogs to get to his ball and mark it before it topples down the ridge.

Up the hill for par from about 15 feet. Doesn't hit it. Shot gone.

  16. Hovland drops a shotpublished at 22:07 British Summer Time 15 May

That will feel like a two-shot swing for Viktor Hovland. The missed birdie putt on the 10th is followed by a failure to save par at the 11th.

The Norwegian just gives himself way too much to do after escaping the sand but leaving himself 28 feet for a par.

That's Hovland's first bogey of the day.

  17. Pars for Raipublished at 22:03 British Summer Time 15 May

    Rai -3 (12*)

We haven't mentioned Aaron Rai for a little while - he has made pars on holes one, two and three and is quietly putting together a solid opening round.

  18. Postpublished at 22:01 British Summer Time 15 May

    DeChambeau E, Hovland -3, Woodland +3 (11)

Viktor Hovland heads right off the 11th tee and finds himself in the rough with a restricted route into the dance floor.

He pushes his second left cutting any branches out of the equation but not the front left bunker.

Bryson DeChambeau has no major issues and zips his iron into 15 feet or thereabouts. Another birdie?

  19. Another bogey for Spiethpublished at 22:01 British Summer Time 15 May

    Aberg -1, Reed E, Spieth +3 (12)

Ludvig Aberg and Jordan Spieth both fall foul of the uphill slope halfway up the 12th green, which dribbles their approach shots further and further and further away from the pin.

Aberg saves par but Spieth drops another shot and that takes him to three over - the same score as Rory McIlroy managed earlier today.

  20. 'Plenty of European interest'published at 21:59 British Summer Time 15 May

The breeze is freshening here so it is testing. The greens are at their firmest and the later you go into the day, the more capricious the golf course can be.

Cam Davis is coping brilliantly at the moment and Tyrrell Hatton is putting together a nice round too.

From a UK perspective, even though Rory McIlroy has not done much today, there is plenty of European interest on that leaderboard.
