  1. Fifth bogey for Thomaspublished at 21:55 British Summer Time 15 May

    Thomas +4, Morikawa -1, D Johnson +2 (12)

Another bogey for Justin Thomas on the 12th thanks to a fluffed chip from off the green - that's his fourth bogey of the day to go along with a double.

And he's still got the Green Mile to navigate as well.

  2. Davis takes outright lead!published at 21:51 British Summer Time 15 May

    Davis -6 (15*)

Cam Davis takes the solo lead at the US PGA Championship with a brilliant birdie putt on the sixth from 20 feet.

This long par three is a bit of a brute today at 241 yards, but Davis is playing superbly today and he has no problem picking up a shot thanks to his red-hot putter.

And he's got some scoreable holes still to come too...

  3. Kim close to eaglepublished at 21:51 British Summer Time 15 May

    Kim -3 (11)

How does that not go in the hole? Tom Kim's second to the par-four 11th is a 160-yard shot and the ball is tracking nicely but skirts the right edge and finishes two inches from the hole. Kick-in birdie and the South Korean is two off the lead.

  4. Close!published at 21:50 British Summer Time 15 May

    Hatton -2, Scott -3, Zalatoris +1 (13)

A near miss from Tyrrell Hatton on the 13th as he just fails to make his birdie from 20 feet away so he stays on two under, a shot behind Adam Scott who hits a wide here but gets down in two from 76 feet away for par.

  5. Bryson's first birdiepublished at 21:49 British Summer Time 15 May

    DeChambeau E, Hovland -3, Woodland +3 (10)

Bryson DeChambeau finds the left fairway bunker left on the par-five 10th but still reaches the 591-yard hole in three and drops in an 11-footer for his first birdie of the day.

Viktor Hovland has a birdie putt of his own from inside five feet but he looks slightly bemused as it slides past the right edge. The Norwegian does not look happy at all as he paces off the green.

  6. Postpublished at 21:47 British Summer Time 15 May

    Davis -5 (14*)

Cam Davis is not a million miles away from holing an outrageous putt from 42 feet away on the fifth green, but although it stays up it's stone dead and a nice par.

He's not showing any signs of letting up is Davis as he goes looking for the outright lead.

  7. Spieth dropping backpublished at 21:45 British Summer Time 15 May

    Aberg -1, Reed E, Spieth +2 (11)

Jordan Spieth's approach to the 11th hole shoots over the back of the green and the result is another bogey, which moves the Grand Slam-chasing American back to two over par for the day.

  8. Ugly from Rosepublished at 21:42 British Summer Time 15 May

    Rose E (8)

A big chance to get under par goes begging for Justin Rose on the eighth. A sublime wedge into four feet sets up the chance but he nudges his putt wide.

It's the sort of miss you and I would be disgruntled with.

  9. Postpublished at 21:41 British Summer Time 15 May

In US PGA Championship history, there have never been more than four players representing England among the top 20 on the leaderboard at the conclusion of a round.

At the moment, six Englishman (Luke Donald, Matt Fitzpatrick, Aaron Rai, Harry Hall, Marco Penge and Tyrrell Hatton) are projected to finish among the top 20 today.

  10. Disaster for DJpublished at 21:39 British Summer Time 15 May

    Thomas +3, Morikawa -1, D Johnson +2 (11)

Dustin Johnson was going along pretty nicely at level par before disaster struck om the 11th, as he missed a par putt from five feet and the missed the bogey putt coming back from only two feet away!

Really bad lapse in concentration by the two-time major champion.

  11. Birdie for Rosepublished at 21:38 British Summer Time 15 May

    Rose E (7)

Masters runner-up Justin Rose is back to level par after a second birdie in three holes wipes out the two bogeys he had in his first three.

This second comes on the seventh, a two-putt from 50 feet on the par-five hole.

Rosey pulled out of last week's tournament after round one because of illness and said he just wanted to get as much recovery time as possible to be right for this week.

  12. Hovland well placed at turnpublished at 21:38 British Summer Time 15 May

    DeChambeau +1, Hovland -3, Woodland +3 (9)

Viktor Hovland is going along very nicely as he reaches the turn. The 27-year-old who finished in a tie for second a couple of years back at Oak Hill will hope to kick on from here and pick up another shot or two.

Bryson De Chambeau just has not had a close enough look at decent birdie chances. Every time he has putted so far it has been from range.

  13. Birdie for Hidekipublished at 21:34 British Summer Time 15 May

    Matsuyama -2 (10)

A lovely bit of course management from Hideki Matsuyama down the long par-five 10th. In the cabbage off the tee, he takes his punishment and just advances his ball back into the fairway to leave himself 110 yards to the green.

A wedge and a short putt and that's a third birdie of the day for the Japanese.

  14. Davis ties the lead!published at 21:29 British Summer Time 15 May

    Davis -5 (13*)

Cam Davis picks up yet another birdie on the fourth to join Ryan Gerard in a tie for the US PGA Championship lead.

The Aussie hit his tee shot on the par three to around 15 feet and then rolled in the birdie putt with confidence to grab a share of the lead at the second major of the year.

  15. Get Involved - preferred lies at the PGApublished at 21:27 British Summer Time 15 May

    Scottie SchefflerImage source, Getty Images

If you were with us earlier, you might have seen the crazy scenes around the 16th where the world's best players Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele and Rory McIlroy all made double bogey.

Scheffler and Schauffele both hooked their approaches into the water from the middle of the fairway - and afterwards blamed mud on their balls for their shots.

This comes after tournament organisers refused to allow preferred lies for this championship.

    What do you think?

Should the golfers be allowed to lift, clean and place the ball on the fairway?

Thumb if you think that ought to be OK, thumb down if you think they should just get on with it...

  16. Bogey for Abergpublished at 21:26 British Summer Time 15 May

    Aberg -1, Reed -1, Spieth +1 (10)

Ludvig Aberg is unable to carry the momentum of that massive birdie putt on nine into the par-five 10th hole.

He gets into trouble off the tee and never really recovers, eventually finishing with a six.

  17. Hole in one for Cole!published at 21:23 British Summer Time 15 May
    Breaking

    Cole E (13*)

An ace on the fourth for Eric Cole!

A couple of bounces and straight into the cup.

It moves the American back to level par through 13 holes and it's a moment he'll remember forever.

  18. Postpublished at 21:17 British Summer Time 15 May

    Hatton -2, Scott -3, Zalatoris E (11)

Great effort from 50 feet by Adam Scott, who comes pretty close to holing it for birdie - Tyrrell Hatton has the same line but half the distance but even after getting a nice read off Scott he can't find the cup either.

  19. Morikawa moves under parpublished at 21:15 British Summer Time 15 May

    Thomas +3, Morikawa -1, D Johnson E (10)

Collin Morikawa takes advantage of the par-five 10th to dip under par for the tournament - and Justin Thomas matches his four to get back to three over.

A big problem for Thomas is his nightmare start came on the front nine, so he's got to try and make his score back in the next few holes before tackling the Green Mile.

  20. Hovland with back-to-back birdiespublished at 21:13 British Summer Time 15 May

    DeChambeau +1, Hovland -3, Woodland +3 (8)

It is just not happening for Bryson De Chambeau at present.

He tries to drive the 342-yard eighth hole but ends up right in the second cut and when he flops a wedge over the bunker directly guarding his path to the green his ball simply does not kick on.

It ensures another hole that in all likelihood will end with a par at best.

Viktor Hovland's improved chipping comes to the fore mind, as he evades the same sandtrap and plonks his ball into three feet.
