    Hall -2, Takeda -5 (8)

England's Georgia Hall is still hinting her first birdie of the day as she heads onto the par-five ninth.

She needs to start making up ground soon.

    Kim -7, Yamashita -10 (6)

The flag is flapping away in the wind with a lovely sea view as A Lim Kim's birdie putt comes up a tad shy of the sixth. With her power off the tee that will count as an opportunity lost.

Lots of putts today have come up a few inches short and Miyu Yamashita's birdie attempt is another.

I have just caught up with Charley Hull on the short eighth.

At least I think I have.

You cannot get a view of the green, so big is the crowd following the Englishwoman.

  4. Hull taps in for parpublished at 15:41 British Summer Time 3 August

    Hull -8, Khang -4 (7)

Charley Hull rolls a 30-feet putt up the slope on the green at the seventh but comes up short by two or three inches.

So close to a hat-trick of birdies. She taps in for par.

Hull's playing partner, Megan Khang, is still searching for her first birdie of the day.

    Kim -7, Yamashita -10 (5)

A Lim Kim is in the small bunker right in the middle of the fairway off the tee on the sixth.

Not sure she could do that too many times even if she was trying. Her second clatters against the front wall and skips out before she plays a superb iron shot onto the green to give herself an outside birdie chance.

Miyu Yamashita will also have a birdie putt on the way.

  6. Postpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 3 August

    Hall -2, Takeda -5 (7)

Rio Takeda's birdie putt pulls up short on the seventh. The Japanese player and England's Georgia Hall are still waiting for their first birdie of the day.

Hall had made three by this stage on Saturday.

  7. Postpublished at 15:31 British Summer Time 3 August

    Kim -7, Yamashita -10 (5)

Miyu Yamashita cannot drop in her birdie putt on the fifth green, sliding her putt right. That would have given her a very healthy lead.

Meanwhile, A Lim Kim has a birdie putt of her own but there's not enough juice on that.

  8. Back-to-back birdies for Hullpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 3 August

    Hull -8, Khang -4 (6)

Charley Hull is building up a head of steam here!

Back-to-back birdies for the 29-year-old, who just saw a putt for eagle finish a couple of inches short of the hole at the sixth.

Hull is now eight under and up to second. Two shots off the lead.

Miyu Yamashita looks full of confidence and swishes into four feet on the par-three fifth.

She could be out of sight by the turn if she can keep this up.

  10. Katsu & Lee claim parpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 3 August

    Katsu -5, A Lee -6 (5)

Andrea Lee cancelled out one of her bogeys from the first two holes with a birdie on the fourth but is not quite able to slid in a makeable putt on the fifth and settles for par.

Minami Katsu skims a putt just past the hole and also takes par. She is yet to open her birdie account today

  11. Amateur Martin Sampredo in clubhouse leadpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 3 August

    Martin Sampredo -4 (68)

Four under par is the mark to beat for those currently out on the course.

Spanish amateur Paula Martin Sampredo made it home in 30 (THIRTY) strokes for a round of 68.

An outstanding effort and she will be a worthy recipient of the Smyth Salver as the leading amateur this week.

  12. Yamashita extends her leadpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 3 August

    Kim -7, Yamashita -10 (4)

It's calm and controlled and very good golf from Miyu Yamashita, who finds the green in two and then drains a mid-range birdie attempt.

A Lim Kim finds he rough off the tee and pays the price for failing to land her second on the green, failing to get up and down from the left to save her par.

    A two-shot swing.

  13. Watch Rhodes' miraculous hole-in-onepublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 3 August

    Rhodes -4 (9)

Earlier, Women's Open debutant Mimi Rhodes had a moment to remember on the fifth hole.

It was one of the most remarkable aces you'll ever see...

You can watch that and more of today's action in our highlights programme on BBC Two at 23:40 BST.

She couldn't repeat the trick at the short eighth hole, dropping a shot, but she got it straight back at the ninth to reach the turn in a very eventful 35 strokes.

  14. Birdie for Hullpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 3 August

    Hull -7, Khang -4 (5)

Charley Hull is up and running.

A fine tee shot on the par-three fifth leaves her a comfortable putt for a birdie and Hull duly rolls it in much to the delight of the crowd.

Hull moves to seven under, two shots off the lead.

  15. Harry finishes uppublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 3 August

    Harry +5 (77)

Wales' Darcey Harry, a member at Royal Porthcawl, finishes a memorable week with a five-over-par round of 77 to finish five over for the tournament.

A few days she will surely never forget.

  16. Successive birdies for Woadpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 3 August

    Woad -3 (9)

Lottie Woad finishes the front nine in style, following up her birdie on the eighth with another at the ninth. An eagle putt from long range came to rest a few inches from the cup, leaving a tap-in for a four.

She's now three under for the tournament, which is good enough for a share of 12th spot at the moment.

As an amateur, Woad finished in a tie for 10th at St Andrews last year.

  17. Postpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 3 August

    Hall -2, Takeda -5 (5)

Up on the fifth Georgia Hall has a birdie putt that drifts down from 15-20 feet but never really threatens to drop in the hole.

Hall is yet to really get going today.

  18. Yamashita regains lead as Kim bogeys thirdpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 3 August

    Kim -8, Yamashita -9 (3)

A bit too much gas on that as A Lim Kim knocks her birdie putt five feet past. Her return putt breaks from right to left and then pulls up right on the edge of the cup and briefly threatens to topple in before she decides to go and tidy up.

Miyu Yamashita will be putting to save her par from just inside that and regains her lead with a solid four.

  19. Fourth straight par for Hullpublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 3 August

    Hull -6, Khang -5 (4)

England's Charley Hull with a fourth consecutive par on the fourth hole.

Hull's being playing nicely so far but you sense just needs that first birdie to ignite her round and get on a roll.

  20. Postpublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 3 August

    Kim -9, Yamashita -9 (2)

Miyu Yamashita leaks her second shot right on the third going for the pin with a hybrid.

At present A Lim Kim's greater distance off the tee is coming into play as she knocks an eight iron on to the putting surface to get a look at birdie.
