"This is a tough one to swallow. I really thought I had that out there today. Obviously posting minus 17 going into the clubhouse, could might as well been enough.

Played really good in the playoff as well. Hit a solid 5-iron down on the last play, but it got a horrendous bounce. It's a metre from being dead to the hole. So it's tough."

On the progress he's made:

"Absolutely, yes. It feels like I'm definitely back and playing at a level where I want to play. A top 10 last week and then losing in playoff this week. So yeah, it feels like it's trending."

He adds today feels like a "bit of redemption" after missing a putt to force a play-off with Rasmus Hojgaard at last year's Irish Open.

When asked about the cheers around the 18th green, Rory McIlroy says "I hope I'll be getting a bit of it at the Ryder Cup in a few weeks".

Well, that was a hugely dramatic day's golf.

Lagergren must hole out to extend the play-off.

Even though Lagergren is off the green, McIlroy's got a huge putt so he'll be going first.

If he gets this down to kick-in distance, it could be lights out for the Swede.

Lagergren will be playing his fourth but he could chip in. I wouldn't put it past him with how today's gone...
