Lagergren does indeed roll in for his par.

He leads by one as he strides to the 18th tee.

Rafael Cabrera-Bello finds the sand off the 18th tee and is forced to lay up.

But his third is lovely and he'll have an uphill but for a closing birdie to post -16.

This is tense.

Speaking of the Swede, he has a lengthy birdie putt of his own on 17.

Hmmm, it's not quite dead. He'll have about three feet left. You'd expect him to make it though.

McIlroy has holed a couple of monsters today but he lags his birdie try on 16 down to kick-in distance.

That's a big chance gone.

Angel Hidalgo plays a cracker into the 15th and has a downhill putt to bounce back from that bogey on the last.

Right. A massive moment for Joakim Lagergren.

After a stunning second into the par-five 16th, he can take the lead on his own with an eagle.

And he does! What a move by the Swede.

Will it be a McIlroy special off the tee on 16?

No. "Fore left" he cries and that looks like it'll be a lay-up.

He'll have a wee knee-knocker on the way back.

Yep, in it goes. He'll take that par after narrowly avoiding the water off the tee.

Joakim Lagergren, take a bow!

He takes dead aim with a three-wood at the par-five 16th. It's on an aggressive line and lands about eight feet to the right of the cup.

What a chance for eagle!

Angel Hidalgo is a tad aggressive out of the sand on 14 and his par putt lips out on the left!

An untimely bogey for the Spaniard.

McIlroy did indeed avoid the drink by the skin of his teeth.
