    MacIntyre/Rose v Homa/Clark 2UP (16)

    Incredible turnaround from Team Europe.

Don't forget the Americans were leading three of the four matches less than an hour ago.

Can MacIntyre and Rose snatch victory away from Homa and Clark on the final straight?!

They've got a chance, you know. Rose caresses a chip close and it asks a question of his opponents...

Jon Rahm conserved his energy until the back nine when his partner needed him,

How do you do that? To save it for the big moment.

Oh my word. WHAT. A. PUTT.

And what a roar. The crowd around the 18th are going wild.

    MacIntyre/Rose v Homa/Clark 2UP (16)

Max Homa knows his team are dormie going on to the penultimate tee and maybe relaxes a little too much as his tee-shot on the par-three 17th leaks left.

His playing partner Wyndham Clark can't hit the green either.

    Opportunity knocks for Robert MacIntyre...

But the three-putt on the previous green is still clouding his mind and he pushes his tee-shot left as well.

He's fuming with himself. Club gets slammed into the ground with a look of a hungry bloke who has just found out the chippy is shut.

  5. Slam dunk!published at 17:00 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Rahm/Hojgaard v Scheffler/Koepka A/S (F)

We're running out of superlatives for Jon Rahm's golf today as he slam dunks his putt from just over 30 feet on the final green for an eagle to halve the match!

Even Rahm is stunned - maybe because he didn't half hit that and had it not been bang on line into the heart of the hole it'd raced by, but it smacked into the back of the cup, popped up and then took a dive into the hole for yet another highlight reel moment for the Spaniard.

  6. MacIntyre three-puttspublished at 16:57 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    MacIntyre/Rose v Homa/Clark 2UP (16)

Robert MacIntyre left himself too much to do.

He misses the birdie putt on the 16th, a three-putt after that wonderful drive onto the green proving costly.

The Europeans are two down with two holes to play, guaranteeing the Americans at least a half.

  7. Postpublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Rahm/Hojgaard v Scheffler/Koepka 1UP (17)

Jon Rahm does not want to be beaten here, and he muscles a brilliant second shot onto the front edge of the final green, which is a par five while the rest of the group miss the putting surface.

  8. Postpublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    MacIntyre/Rose v Homa/Clark 1UP (15)

If MacIntyre lands this eagle putt they will hear the roar all the way back in Oban.

Oooh, he's gone for it with a bit of pace. Woah there.

    Hmmm testy one back.

Clark gets a sighter from the Scot's effort and eases off the gas more to leave him with a likelier birdie.

  9. First point for Fitz!published at 16:52 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    5&3 McIlroy/Fitzpatrick v Morikawa/Schauffele (F)

Game over in the bottom match! To be fair it's been game over for a while but Matt Fitzpatrick and Rory McIlroy maybe just took their eyes of the ball when going six up - which is understandable.

Congratulations to Fitzpatrick for finally getting that first Ryder Cup point under his belt - and my word didn't he deserve it after that birdie blitz that just blew the Americans away.

  10. 'Thomas carried Spieth today'published at 16:52 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Paul Waring
European Tour pro on BBC Radio 5 Live

I must say I feel like Justin Thomas has carried Jordan Spieth today. He's been a bit errant in what he's done. He's holed a couple of short game shots, granted, but the rest of it, Justin Thomas had no support.

He's had the weight of this American team on his shoulders, going out as number one and he's performed fantastically.

    And Justin Thomas sinks it.

Fair play to this quartet as the American keeps his cool to secure the half and America's first entry onto the scoreboard.

    Terrific recovery from the Europeans.

    MacIntyre/Rose v Homa/Clark 1UP (15)

Giddy up! This group is heading to the 16th, where all four will be trying to gallop towards the green.

Grab those drivers. Robert MacIntyre smokes his tee-shot and will be taking the putter as he walks down the fairway.

Justin Rose is short near the bunkers, Max Homa in a similar spot.

Wyndham Clark joins MacIntyre on the green with another pearler, landing almost next to his opponent.

A duel of deftness awaits those two.

    4UP McIlroy/Fitzpatrick v Morikawa/Schauffele (14)

I've never seen anyone more desperate for a hi-five or fist bump than Rory McIlroy as he finds the front of the 15th green about 12 feet away.

Matt Fiztpatrick obliges, eventually, as Europe go looking to close this one out.

  14. Postpublished at 16:47 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Hovland/Hatton v Spieth/Thomas A/S (17)

    Viktor!

The coollest man in golf has everyone on their feet because he has just drained from 26 feet, the ball flirting with the edge before finally dropping. What a putt!

It won't be a full point for the Americans and that six feet looks a big distance for Justin Thomas all of a sudden.

  15. Postpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Hovland/Hatton v Spieth/Thomas A/S (17)

Wow, that's stunning from Justin Thomas out of the rough from 33 yards.

It almost goes in, scooching six feet by but you'd imagine he'd hole it.

Pressure on Tyrrell Hatton (31 feet) and Viktor Hovland (26 feet) to sink their putts to save a half.

What a trip for a pre-wedding/60th birthday celebration!

Peter Lambert is the man with the Cup final birthday and he's with his wife Rosie. Their daughter Hope (left) is getting married to Kev (right) straight after the Ryder Cup in October.

They are all members at Moortown in Leeds, which hosted the first Ryder Cup on this side of the Atlantic way back in 1929.

    Hovland/Hatton v Spieth/Thomas A/S (17)

Water. That sums up Jordan Spieth's closing stretch as he comes out of the rough and finds the drink.

Viktor Hovland is on the green but he's hitting his feet with his club in frustration as it lands a full 27 feet short of the pin.

This is awkward for Tyrrell Hatton from the bunker and he can't spin it back. A wry expression on his face.

A good up-and-down here from Justin Thomas and he can secure America's first point.

    MacIntyre/Rose v Homa/Clark 1UP (15)

Would you Adam and Eve it!

Wyndham Clark, whose putter has been poker hot in the past couple of hours, watches what happened to his pal Max Homa... and does exactly the same thing.

He lets his par putt slide right of the hole, too.

That means Justin Rose's par is enough to claw a hole back for Europe in this match.

    One down, three to go!

  19. Postpublished at 16:38 British Summer Time 29 September 2023

    Hovland/Hatton v Spieth/Thomas A/S (17)

Erratic driving from Jordan Spieth has seemingly left Justin Thomas carrying the flag alone on these closing holes and he's taken two shots to escape thick rough once again down the 18th.

So, JT to go conservative? Not a chance, but he has flayed his drive right and it's in the rough to the side of the green.

Tyrrell Hatton's in the bunker, Viktor Hovland has another 90 yards to go.

    The shootout is on.

    MacIntyre/Rose v Homa/Clark 2UP (14)

First up, Homa. His ball wriggles right and stays north.

It also serves as a line for Clark.

You'd back the US Open champion from here...
