  1. Lowry shoots eagle from 120 yardspublished at 20:43 British Summer Time 13 April

    Lowry +4 (14)

Few sights in golf beat that of Shane Lowry's smile and his face has just lit up Augusta over at the 14th.

It's been a difficult day for the Irishman who was sitting at six over par for the tournament before taking aim from inside the trees with his second shot from 120 yards.

He's only gone and holed it.

    A magnificent eagle.

  2. 'I hit the ball better'published at 20:42 British Summer Time 13 April

    McIlroy +3 (71)

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy, speaking to Sky Sports, after his one-under 71 left him three over for the tournament: "It's still pretty rough out there, some of the hole locations are really tricky, the wind is less than yesterday but still there.

"As the day goes on, with the wind up and sun out, the greens will get firmer. The leaders are off to a good start but it will get tricky out there."

On spending time on the range in darkness last night: "I needed to find some rhythm last night. I hit some balls for 10-15 minutes just to get a feel. It was nice to hit the ball a bit better today and make some birdies. Not quite as many as I wanted but definitely better."

On his mindset tomorrow: "To go out there and give it a go. A couple of years ago I went out there and shot a good score and got myself up the leaderboard.

"If the conditions stay the same and pick up four, five six shots you will get up the leaderboard. I will try to finish the week on a positive note."

    Davis -4, Morikawa -6 (5)

What's this two holes and no birdies for Collin Morikawa. Not enough gas from the American on a birdie putt from 25 feet.

    Homa -6, DeChambeau -5 (3)

Max Homa has almost found the grandstand off the back of the fourth - but hits a nice chip back onto the green.

Bryson DeChambeau is a bit left with his tee shot, which has been a theme so far.

  5. Postpublished at 20:39 British Summer Time 13 April

    Scheffler -7 (4)

The par-four fifth Magnolia is a monster at 500 yards but in two shots Scottie Scheffler has guided his ball to 13 feet from the hole.

An immediate chance to cancel out his bogey at the last.

  6. Postpublished at 20:36 British Summer Time 13 April

    Woods +7 Hatton E (10)

Some respite from Tiger Woods, who plays his first hole in a while without dropping a shot or two.

The five-time champion actually nails his approach, pin high to 12 feet from over 200 yards but just can't sink his birdie putt which slides right.

Also a par for Tyrrell Hatton, whose third, a little bump and run to a foot was a joy to behold.

  7. Bogey for Brysonpublished at 20:31 British Summer Time 13 April

    Homa -6, DeChambeau -5 (3)

Bryson DeChambeau was a bit heavy-handed with his third shot here as well, and it gives him a long par putt that he can't convert and it costs him a bogey.

Dropping a shot on a 350-yard par four will not go down well.

  8. Young in the huntpublished at 20:30 British Summer Time 13 April

    Young -3 (6)

Cameron Young has made a bit of a charge on both previous days on his front nine, but has slipped up around the turn in both days.

He's knocked in a birdie at six from off the green and that makes it three already today, along with a bogey, and he moves on to three under par.

  9. Bogey on four for Schefflerpublished at 20:29 British Summer Time 13 April

    Scheffler -7 (4)

A chink in the armour of Scottie Scheffler as his putt slides by.

The chasing pack will be relieved to see him give a shot back.

  10. Latest leaderboardpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 13 April

Scottie Scheffler is still setting the pace...

    -8 Scheffler (3)

    -4 Fox (6), Aberg (5), Davis (4), Hojgaard (3)

    Selected others:

    -1 Fleetwood (6)

    +7 Woods (10)

  11. Birdie for Abergpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 13 April

    Aberg -4, Pavon -1 (5)

It was never in doubt that Ludwig Aberg would be walking off the fifth green with anything other than a birdie.

A neat finish lifts him to four under.

    That's a tie for fifth.

  12. Postpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 13 April

    Scheffler -8 (3)

That front right bunker is proving a popular spot on the fourth - we just saw Collin Morikawa land in there before making par and Scottie Scheffler has followed in his footsteps.

Another chance to flex those scrambling muscles. He sprays it out of the sand and the ball flirts with the cup before rolling nine feet past.

He'll need to make that for par.

  13. Postpublished at 20:25 British Summer Time 13 April

    Homa -6, DeChambeau -6 (2)

The third is a short par four but can be awkward if you're out of position, which Bryson DeChambeau certainly is as he again tugs a driver miles left.

And the long chip isn't the best either as he goes coast to coast and tumbles off the green on the opposite side.

  14. Postpublished at 20:23 British Summer Time 13 April

    Davis -4, Morikawa -6 (4)

Can Collin Morikawa continue his run of birdies?

The American finds the right greenside bunker on the fourth. Surely not from here?

Hold on, that's a lovely shot to almost chip in. It'll just be a par mind, which is one better than Cam Davis, who looks disappointed after coming up well short of the green from the tee and then missing a seven-foot putt to save his par

  15. Postpublished at 20:23 British Summer Time 13 April

    Aberg -3, Pavon -1 (4)

After squaring with the short par-three fourth, Ludwig Aberg ups the ante on the fifth.

The European Ryder Cup star uses a mid iron like its a scalpel, making a precise incision into the green from the fairway and leaving a birdie putt from a few feet.

The loud exclamation from one patron, which leaps out of the television coverage, signifies how good it was.

  16. Scheffler finds unexpected birdiepublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 13 April

    Scheffler -8 (3)

    Trouble? What trouble?

Totally out of position, Scottie Scheffler gets a free drop that he wedges out of the straw to 35 feet and drills in.

Forget about custom-made clubs, he's got magic wands in his golf bag.

Two birdies in the opening three holes stretches the world number one's lead.

  17. Postpublished at 20:17 British Summer Time 13 April

    Homa -6, DeChambeau -6 (2)

We can talk 3D printers, same-length irons, long drive contests and the likes, but Bryson DeChambeau is also a more than decent putter - and his distance control has been excellent all week at Augusta.

He nurdles one with almost a crazy golf type line on the second, through the fringe and down a huge embankment rather than a slope, so can just tap it in for par.

  18. Momentum with Morikawapublished at 20:16 British Summer Time 13 April

    Davis -5, Morikawa -6 (3)

Collin Morikawa is on fire at the moment.

He chips up to 12 feet at the third and then strokes in his third birdie putt in three holes.

He is now in a tie for second and his playing partner, Cameron Davis isn't far behind him on his second appearance at the Masters.

The Australian rattles in a 30-foot putt to keep pace.

  19. Postpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 13 April

    Scheffler -7 (2)

An ugly tee shot from Scottie Scheffler gets lost in the pine trees down the left side of the third fairway.

When he trundles up to his ball, he ends up needing a drop for his second shot and painstakingly measures out a club length from one of the imposing tree trunks.

Some trouble perhaps for the leader?

  20. Postpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 13 April

    Homa -6, DeChambeau -6 (1)

Bryson DeChambeau pulls his tee shot badly at the second, but it doesn't go as deep into the trees as we first though, so he's able to recover and fire it out of the pine straw to just off the back of the green.

It's a tough spot to get down to the flag from there though..
