  1. How many putts this time?published at 23:50 British Summer Time 14 April

When Scottie Scheffler won the Masters in 2022 he stood on the 18th tee with a five-shot lead - and then went on to miss two short putts for a double bogey on the last.

He's got a four-shot advantage this time around, so I wonder how many putts he'll take this time?

  2. Just a parpublished at 23:46 British Summer Time 14 April

Breaking news - Scottie Scheffler missed a putt! It's just a par for the leader who as it stands will take a four-shot lead down the 18th.

  3. Postpublished at 23:45 British Summer Time 14 April

    Homa -4, Aberg -7 (17)

Ludvig Aberg stays two shots clear of Collin Moirkawa in second place as he cards a par on the 17th.

It's been some performance from the major championship debutant but it looks as though he's just going to fall short.

Max Homa drops back to four under but the American is still well on course to better his best ever Masters finish (tied for 43rd) 12 months ago.

  4. US duo finish uppublished at 23:44 British Summer Time 14 April

    DeChanbeau -2 (73), Schauffele -1 (73)

The heavyweight duo of Bryson DeChambeau and Xander Schauffele have just finished their round on 18, the former making a par and the latter looking frustrated with a last-gasp bogey.

Neither got going today, both are one over par for their Sunday and contemplating a huge gap to the leader.

  5. The 15th 'lives rent free in my head'published at 23:41 British Summer Time 14 April

    Hatton E (69)

Tyrrell Hatton sums up his woes down the closing stretch at Augusta National so poetically doesn't he. The Englishman is in a tie for ninth at present but rightly feels he's he could be far higher up on the leaderboard: "I was trying not to think of 15 until I got there. That hole lives rent free in my head. I hate it. I absolutely hate it. And I think it hates me with the scores that I end up producing on it.

"Again, I've played that hole in four over this week. Yeah, 15 and 18, I'm eight over for the tournament. You take them out, and it shows that I've played some really good golf. Can't do anything about it now.

"I've doubled my tally now for rounds in the 60s. I don't think there's another golf course in the world that I'll play 25 times and only shoot in the 60s twice. It's a really hard golf course, one that I've always really struggled on.

"It's just more down to the fact of my shot shape, and I'm not going to change my golf swing or how I want to play golf just to try and get around one golf course. Around most courses, it's fine. It's just here, they just love having trees on the front left of tee boxes.

"It would be nice if we come back and they just put a few on the right just to take out some of the people that draw it, mess them up for a change."

  6. 'Top five would be a fantastic week'published at 23:39 British Summer Time 14 April

    Fleetwood -4 (69)

Tommy Fleetwood after shooting a round of 69 on the final day: "It was a nice round of golf. Of course to get into any kind of serious contention, I guess I needed a much lower one and I needed a few more fireworks. But the golf course isn't giving much away.

"Eighth time at the Masters, and this is my first top 10. Hopefully it'll be a top five and that'll be a fantastic week.

"You never know what's around the corner. I loved it this week. It was great being out late on the Sunday and playing a good round of golf, and just another major championship where you're at the right end of the leaderboard at the end of the week.

"Who knows if my time will ever come, but all I can do is keep trying to put myself there and keep having performances like this, and then we'll see."

  7. Pulling clearpublished at 23:36 British Summer Time 14 April

    Scheffler -11, Morikawa -5 (16)

Scottie Scheffler is purring now - playing yet another brilliant iron off the 16th tee and then inevitably, now he's found the right putter, converting the birdie putt to get to 11 under.

That's a four-shot lead he's got with a couple of holes to play, I think we know where this one is going....

  8. Bogey for DeChambeaupublished at 23:31 British Summer Time 14 April

    DeChambeau -2 (17)

Bryson DeChambeau has finally broken his run of 12 straight pars - but in the wrong direction.

He's made bogey on the 17th and is heading down the 18th one over for his round and just two under for the tournament.

Since that stellar opening of 65 on Thursday, he has always been dropping backwards.

  9. Morikawa birdiespublished at 23:28 British Summer Time 14 April

    Scheffler -10, Morikawa -5 (15)

Scottie Scheffler navigates the long putt back up the hill well enough to walk off the 15th with a par, which he probably would've taken after landing in that bunker.

Having been forced to lay up Collin Morikawa makes the most of it by converting his birdie putt, which he deserved after a lively wedge in.

  10. Aberg's clever up and downpublished at 23:27 British Summer Time 14 April

    Homa -5, Aberg -7 (16)

Shades of Tiger Woods' iconic chip on the 16th in 2005 as Ludvig Aberg plays out of the sand on the same hole.

The Swede splashes out left and then leaves gravity and nature to takes its course as his ball trickles down and right towards the cup. The big difference is that his ball stops just short meaning, it'll just be a par, rather than a birdie he desperately needed.

Max Homa also heads off with a three, with his birdie putt never really threatening to drop.

  11. Slippery slopepublished at 23:24 British Summer Time 14 April

    Scheffler -10, Morikawa -4 (14)

The lie isn't as bad as we first thought for Scheffler, but the slope on this green is - as even when the ball looked to have stopped it just kept on trickling and trickling further away down the hill.

After a full day drying out these greens are just so slippery now, even Wilf O'Reilly would struggle on them (you don't get too many veteran speed skating references in golf commentary do you?).

  12. Postpublished at 23:21 British Summer Time 14 April

    Homa -5, Aberg -7 (15)

Ludvig Aberg has his eight iron out to tackle the 176-yard 16th. He looks to have a decent line but not quite the length as his ball plummets into the greenside sand trap.

Max Homa, with a birdie putt on the way, that he can't really afford to miss just to keep his slim hopes alive.

  13. Fleetwood majors at biggest eventspublished at 23:19 British Summer Time 14 April

    Fleetwood -4 (69)

Before this week, Tommy Fleetwood's best at Augusta was a tie for 14th in 2022.

Likely the worst he will finish today is fifth.

Prior to that he finished 10th at The Open in July 2023 and fifth with a record final round at the US Open in June.

He is a marvel at being in contention but never quite firmly in the mix.

    A phenomenal player nonetheless.

  14. Fried eggpublished at 23:18 British Summer Time 14 April

    Scheffler -10, Morikawa -4 (14)

Without wife Meredith around this week, Scottie Scheffler says he made eggs as he sorted his own breakfast out this week - and he's dished up a big fried egg in the bunker on 15.

It's a stinker of a lie - especially when he's got to get it to a flag going down some lightning quick slopes on that 15th green. This could be interesting.

  15. Postpublished at 23:15 British Summer Time 14 April

    Homa -5, Aberg -7 (15)

The trees do indeed block out Ludvig Aberg's direct route to the pin on the 15th, with his ball scooting through and clipping a branch before pulling up before the pond.

His third, a wedge over the flag, wants to spin back towards the hole but snags on the fringe and a difficult downhill putt then looks set to graze the cup but shifts right. Just a par.

  16. Postpublished at 23:11 British Summer Time 14 April

    DeChambeau -3, Schauffele -2 (16)

Tremendous tee shot from Bryson DeChambeau on 16 as he lands his ball behind the flag and watches as it swirls down the slope and rests eight feet away. Ideal.

And then he misses the putt.

    Disconsolate.

  17. Scottie too hottiepublished at 23:11 British Summer Time 14 April

    Scheffler -10, Morikawa -4 (14)

They were a bit dodgy at the start of the day, but Scottie Scheffler's irons are now behaving exactly how we've seen them over the last year or so as he plays another sumptuous effort from 153 yards that ends up two feet from the hole!

Even I'd put that in - and Scheffler does too to get to 10 under and his Masters march continues, can anyone challenge him?

  18. No birdie joy for Fleetwood on 18published at 23:08 British Summer Time 14 April

    Fleetwood -4 (69)

    Tommy FleetwoodImage source, Reuters

One last birdie putt for Tommy Fleetwood and at least this one is inside 20 feet - it's from 18.

His round started with holing one of these but it's not a symmetrical ending.

Probably a fitting one though as his effort misses.

It's still a brilliant round of 69 and he's the clubhouse leader at four under.

  19. Postpublished at 23:02 British Summer Time 14 April

    Homa -5, Aberg -7 (14)

A big toe draw means Ludvig Aberg is bang out of position on the par-five 15th. Will there be a path through a cluster of pines trees now seemingly blocking his way to the dance floor?

  20. Schauffele birdies 15published at 23:02 British Summer Time 14 April

    DeChambeau -3, Schauffele -2 (15)

That Xander Schauffele birdie I thought was coming on 14? It's arrived on the par-five 15th. He's into the top seven with that.

Bryson DeChambeau also gets himself into poosition to convert for birdie, but the story of his day is laggy putts.

    An 11th straight par.
