  1. Aberg continues to chasepublished at 22:58 British Summer Time 14 April

    Homa -5, Aberg -7 (14)

Ludvig Aberg aims left on the 14th and pitches himself right back into the conversation, with his ball shifting right to present a birdie chance that he gratefully snaffles up.

The first time this week he's played the 14th in better than par and what a time to do it.

Just a par for Max Homa who got his angle of approach all wrong.

  2. Birdies on 13published at 22:56 British Summer Time 14 April

    Scheffler -9, Morikawa -4 (13)

That's about as stress-free a birdie as you'll see at Augusta for Scottie Scheffler, who knocks in a two-putt for his four without breaking a sweat.

Collin Morikawa also gets down in two from a tricky spot to also get his birdie and just about stay in contention, but it's going to need some sort of error from Scheffler you feel to let him back in.

  3. Postpublished at 22:55 British Summer Time 14 April

    Fleetwood -4 (17)

Final drive of the day for Tommy Fleetwood.

He likes that and so he should. Smoked down the centre of 18.

A birdie at the last would do nicely.

  4. Postpublished at 22:55 British Summer Time 14 April

    Fitzpatrick +4 (75)

Matt Fitzpatrick is done and dusted and bogeys at the 15th and 18th see him currently sat in a tie for 23rd with his Ryder Cup team-mate, Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy.

The Englishman barely answered a question about the Masters in his post-round press conference instead choosing to focus on the RBC Heritage coming up next week.

  5. Fleetwood stays at four underpublished at 22:52 British Summer Time 14 April

    Fleetwood -4 (17)

Ah they're just not going in for Tommy Fleetwood.

Excellent attempt, good pace and ever-so-close to the correct line.

His three birdies have come at 1, 7 and 13. If he's following that pattern of jumping up the leaderboard every six, he's sadly going to run out of holes.

  6. Postpublished at 22:49 British Summer Time 14 April

    Homa -5, Aberg -6 (13)

Big hole coming up for Ludvig Aberg. Well they all are at this stage aren't they?

He's bogeyed the 14th twice already this week but really needs to find a birdie on a hole that is playing at 3.8750 strokes on average this week.

    Fleetwood -4 (16)

Two holes left for Tommy Fleetwood as he aims to set an imposing clubhouse target.

He's found the green at 17 with his second shot, not easy on that narrow neck.

It'll be yet another length birdie putt, this time from about 35 feet.

    Scheffler -8, Morikawa -3 (12)

Collin Morikawa has a rip at the green on 13 from all of 237 yards, and makes it with ease but just off the left edge.

Scottie Scheffler has what looks a slightly dodgy lie but it doesn't bother him as he fires his effort safely onto the green - he's playing pretty defensive golf right now but it's more than good enough so far.

  9. Aberg gains groundpublished at 22:46 British Summer Time 14 April

    Homa -5, Aberg -6 (13)

Can Ludvig Aberg drop this in for eagle...? He's got the pace just right but it straightens up rather than sliding right and misses the cup by the width of a ball.

A birdie is better than nowt at this stage. He's no two shot behind Scottie Scheffler.

    DeChambeau -3, Schauffele -1 (14)

It's probably a couple of holes since we checked in on Xander Schauffele as he faltered around the turn.

A birdie on 13 and a great chance from 10 feet on 14 to make it back to level par. Missed - he stays tied eighth but could be headed for yet another top-10 finish at a major.

Partner Bryson DeChambeau is putting from the fringe and can't hole. His round has flickered but never caught fire.

    Homa -5, Aberg -5 (12)

Chasing is not exactly the position you want to be in at the Augusta National but Ludvig Aberg has no real choice now you'd have thought.

The Swede looks like he may well be up for the challenge as well finding the 13th with his second to give himself a look at eagle from 18 feet.

Max Homa has no real option other than to lay up after playing pretty conservatively off the tee but gets himself on the green in three on a similar line but outside his playing partner's ball.

  12. Fleetwood makes par in stylepublished at 22:42 British Summer Time 14 April

    Fleetwood -4 (16)

    Tommy!

Fantastic line and shape on that huge putt from Fleetwood as he chases a birdie to make things interesting.

It rapidly picks up speed though and, while heading for the hole, it definitely would lip out and keep going.

As it is, it bounces off the flag and stops tamely next door.

Fleetwood grins as he strolls up and taps in another par.

  13. 'I still need to work on my game'published at 22:40 British Summer Time 14 April

    McIlroy +4 (73)

    Rory McIlroyImage source, EPA

Rory McIlroy speaking to Sky Sports after closing his tournament with a 73 to make level par: [It's taught me] I've still got a little work to do on my game. This is an amazing golf tournament and I am super grateful to come back every year and compete.

"It hasn't been my year this year but I will keep coming back until it is my year.

"My game felt OK for the most part. I struggled a little on Friday and as the conditions have changed the golf course has gone so firm and tricky. If you lose a few shots early on, it is really hard to get them back."

On next month's US PGA Championship at Valhalla where he won his last major in 2014: "It feels like a lifetime ago. I am looking forward to going back. Any time you go back to a venue where you have had success, you get some good vibes.

"There is a little bit of golf before that. Next week I will play in the team event in New Orleans with Shane [Lowry] and then it's Quail Hollow. Hopefully I can use a few starts to get my game in better shape for it."

Zeb: Within the space of three holes we’ve gone from a four-way tie at the top to Scheffler having a three-shot lead. Scottie has one arm in the Green Jacket.

  15. Pars at 12published at 22:39 British Summer Time 14 April

    Scheffler -8, Morikawa -3 (12)

That's another hole ticked off for Scottie Scheffler as they move to 13 with a couple of pars with Collin Morikawa unable to pull a rabbit out of the hat.

A three-shot leads seems comfortable, but as we've seen may times before anything can happen around Augusta.

  16. Postpublished at 22:35 British Summer Time 14 April

    Fleetwood -4 (15)

An attackable pin for Sunday on the par-three 16th and Tommy Fleetwood tries to use the slope to his advantage off the tee.

Only his ball finds the green and flatout refuses to roll.

He really would have wanted something closer than 42 feet for a birdie.

  17. Postpublished at 22:35 British Summer Time 14 April

    Smith -2 (15)

Cameron Smith has made nine successive pars since his bogey at the fifth but plonks his second into the drink on the 15th before playing a superb wedge to give himself a look at a five, and you've guessed it, another par from seven feet.

The Australian's putter has been reliable rather than red hot this week and he tidies up.

  18. Postpublished at 22:33 British Summer Time 14 April

    DeChambeau -3 (13)

Bryson DeChambeau is behind the green in some grubby rough on a 13th hole he probably needed to go low on.

Once again he shows a delicate touch to chip out and give himself a birdie look from 20 feet but he can't convert.

Nine pars in a row for the 2020 US Open champion.

  19. Postpublished at 22:32 British Summer Time 14 April

    Scheffler -8, Morikawa -3 (11)

Collin Morikawa just needs to find something and he's trying to get himself going after playing one of the more attacking shots we've seen on 12.

Would Scottie Scheffler attack the pin? No chance! And rightly he plays the safety shot over that bunker and leaves himself a long putt but safely on the dancefloor.

  20. Homa drops back with double bogeypublished at 22:30 British Summer Time 14 April

    Homa -5, Aberg -5 (12)

Ludvig Aberg's putt is decent but short to the tune of five or six feet...he rolls that in no bother.

Max Homa is now up playing his third.

The American is wary of applying too much juice to this but his ball sticks on the back fringe. He can't knock in a long bogey putt and ends up back at five under with his playing partner.
