    You've definitely got your money's worth if you've been following this three-ball around Portrush today.

    There are only 31 players under par at the moment and three of them are in this group.

    Brian Harman - the 2023 Open champion - has closed on two under, the same score as fellow American Maverick McNealy.

    Joaquin Niemann began the 18th hole on that score as well, but dropped a shot at the last after finding a greenside bunker.

    On that 16th hole, Ludvig Aberg is in an incredible stance off the green - the slope is so huge that he's almost playing his second shot with the ball at eye level!

    He manages to get his ball onto the green but he can't save par, so the Swede is back to two over.

    A gentle bump from the edge of the green towards the pin and Rory McIlroy gives himself a chance of making par on a tricky 15th. It's not an easy putt, but McIlroy generates the precise amount of power to sink it.

    The crowd roar their support and McIlroy raises the putter in acknowledgement.

    Tommy Fleetwood, however, continues to struggle and bogeys the hole to go three over.

    It's a beastly 18 feet for birdie and he bends his knees in agony as his putt scoots by.

    He'll head down the last, one shot back.

    Will Bob MacIntyre get back into red numbers with a birdie on the 16th?

    No he won't - it was always staying left of the hole and doesn't drop.

    Justin Rose putts from off the green to within three feet and it's another par for the Masters runner-up, who is two shots off the lead.

    Bryson DeChambeau is a long way back at five over, but makes a fine par save from off the green.

    The flags at Royal Portrush are fluttering intensively in the gusts of wind. Dark clouds overhead.

    Many of the crowd still on course are braving the elements. Made of stern stuff, golf fans.

    At the par-four 15th, Rory McIlroy hits an iron from a tricky position behind a small mound, but the ball refuses to settle and like Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Thomas before him it ends up trickling off the green.

    Harris English wasn't in the lead on his own for too long. He's back in the group at four under after a bogey on the 14th.

    The American went into the left rough off the tee and never really recovered from there, missing an nine-footer for par.

    Decent tee shot from Tyrrell Hatton right into the heart of the 16th green. No disasters here around Calamity Corner for the Englishman.

    Instead, he's eyeing a birdie and wills his putt to swing a touch left, but it doesn't.

    Four pars in a row keep him in touch.

    Robert MacIntyre had a poor lie in the rough and his second shot lands well short of the green.

    He's left with 10 feet for par... gets it! Nicely done.

    Justin Rose has a birdie try from 25 feet and leaves it just short, but it's a tap-in for par.

    It's a really poor error - he just needed to get it into the middle of the green for bogey and now he's brought a potential double bogey into the equation.

    Momentum is going the wrong way for him fast.

    It has thinned out a bit, but there is a healthy amount still gathering around the green on the 14th.
