Well then, quite an opening day at the 124th US Open yesterday hey?

Tiger Woods got all our hopes up, Patrick Cantlay took control and then Rory McIlroy answered to share the overnight lead on five under at Pinehurst.

McIlroy's out early today so we'll get to see if he can build a lead, or if this treacherous course will bite back as he searches for that elusive fifth major.

Only 15 players shot under par in the first round in largely ideal conditions, so it's bound to be tough again - which will make for more fascinating viewing, so stay tuned as we take you through day two at the US Open.
