Guernsey's hockey team are through to the third round of the HA Vase after coming from 2-0 down at half-time to beat Croydon and Old Whitgiftian 3-2.

Bianca Symes got one back for Guernsey early in the second half before Liz Dudein equalised with 15 minutes left.

Debbie Hunter grabbed the winner with just four minutes left to secure a match with Wokingham in the next round.

Guernsey's women made the semi-finals of the HA Vase last season before going down 2-1 to Oxted.

"We tried to start off brightly like we had done when we faced them last year, but they caught us out," captain Emma Atkinson told BBC Guernsey.

"We fell asleep a bit, we concentrated so much on attacking that we fell asleep at the back and were 2-0 down at half-time.

"A few of their people on the sidelines felt they'd done enough to win it and that gave us more drive, the chances came and we took them in the second half," she added.
