Guernsey's women's and men's teams both cruised through to the quarter-finals of their respective Hockey Association cup tournaments.

Bianca Symes hit a hat-trick as Guernsey's women crushed Wokingham 6-0 in the HA Vase.

"We dominated the game to be fair, and kept tapping away with the goals," said Guernsey captain Emma Atkinson.

Meanwhile, the island's men's team beat Wisbech 6-3 in the HA Trophy, and could meet Jersey, who also made it through.

Guernsey's men went 3-0 up before having two players sidelined with yellow cards.

"It was a great team performance," Guernsey coach Andy Whalley told BBC Guernsey.

"They were a very good side, a great unit, but the great thing was that we took the game to them, we didn't let them settle, we didn't let them play."

"They didn't have an opportunity because we defended incredibly well, defended hard and retained possession very well."
