    Blackpool's Tom Ince looks set to leave Bloomfield Road imminently and Swansea City will be one of the clubs holding talks with the 21-year-old, according to the Press Association.

    Any deal would see a fee paid to take Ince on loan until the end of the season, when a permanent switch could be completed once his Blackpool contract comes to an end.

    Three-time Le Mans 24-hours winner Allan McNish joins the BBC's F1 team for the forthcoming 2014 season.

    McNish, 44, will co-commentate for Radio 5 live at 15 races and provide expert analyst across TV, radio and online.

    Michael Essien completes his move from Chelsea to AC Milan. Barring a loan spell at Real Madrid, the midfielder spent eight and a half years at Stamford Bridge and won two Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League.

    "I know he can continue to play at a high level and I wish him success and happiness in Italy and at the World Cup in Brazil," says Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

    Fulham's pursuit of Porto midfielder Steven Defour looks likely to prove fruitless. His representative Paul Stefani held talks with the Premier League club last week says the move has fallen through.

    Manchester United's new signing Juan Mata will be presented to the media at 13:30 GMT. The Spaniard says it's been an emotional week in his personal blog, external following his £37.1m from Chelsea.

    "It's been a week with mixed feelings, nerves, and times of sadness and happiness, and I have tried to enjoy every moment and learn from what life teaches you every day," writes Mata.

    Scotland beat Namibia by 21 runs to move into second place in the Super Sixes at the ICC World Cup qualifying tournament in New Zealand.

    The Scots reached 279-9 and their opponents were restricted to 258-9 as Safyaan Sharif claimed 4-55.

    With Scotland to play Papua New Guinea and Kenya, the top two sides in the group progress to the 2015 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

    Amid all the talk of transfers, it's easy to forget the mouth-watering FA Cup fifth round draw which took place on Sunday. Arsenal will host Liverpool, meaning in the space of 12 days, they will face the Reds twice, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

    "We have plenty of big games, that means the whole squad will need to be highly focused," says Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

    "To deal with that is a massive challenge for the squad, but I'm confident we can do that.

    "What is important is that you don't lose players from now until this period, that you have all the players available."

    Whitehall officials warn that more terrorist attacks in Russia are "very likely to occur" before or during the Winter Olympics in Sochi.

    Eighty-eight countries will compete in the Games which begin next week. A threat assessment seen by the BBC names a Caucasus group, Imarat Kavkaz (IK), as posing the main danger - saying it has repeatedly expressed a desire to target them.

    The Winter Olympics are scheduled to run from 7-23 February.

    Millwall are set to sign defender Shaun Williams from MK Dons for an undisclosed fee.
