Darren Sammy hits consecutive sixes for West Indies as they beat Australia by six wickets. Afterwards, the 30-year-old responds to pre-match comments from Australia's James Faulkner that he "did not like" the West Indies team.

"The comments galvanised us, of course," says Sammy. "We discussed the comments, we were aware of what was said, we used it as motivation. It was so funny that Faulkner was bowling the last over, so the victory felt very good.

"That put the cherry on top. When you're in the ring, you're on the ropes and you throw that knockout punch, that's how it felt today."

A plane with a banner calling for the removal of Manchester United manager David Moyes will fly over Old Trafford before the start of Saturday's home game with Aston Villa, an aerial advertising company confirms to the Manchester Evening News., external

Chris Mustow, chief pilot at Air Ads, says the individual who made the request has not mentioned if it is on behalf of any specific group of fans. The sign reads 'wrong one - Moyes out' and will be flown around kick-off above Old Trafford for 15 minutes at the start of the game.

"We have had to use extra large letters just to make sure everybody can see it," Mustow says.

A decision on rugby union's new European Cup format is likely to be delayed until next week. Details of the tournament were expected to be confirmed on Wednesday, but some stakeholders have not signed the deal.

Sources at clubs and unions are frustrated by the delay, but there are no indications that the process will fail. Agreement on the format, to feature teams from each Six Nations country, will end a near two-year-long dispute.

More from Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood on Liverpool's title challenge: "The run in is not like anything else," he adds. "Now the players and media are talking about them winning the title it makes a hell of a lot of difference when you're out there warming up.

"I know that myself from my time at Blackburn. We were 12 points clear with a game in hand when we won the title. We managed to scrape through at the last but we were shot because people started talking about it. It will be very interesting to see how Liverpool cope with it."

Striker Emmanuel Adebayor is a doubt for Tottenham's trip to Liverpool, but manager Tim Sherwood says the striker has told him he confident of being fit. Spurs, who are sixth, start the weekend seven points behind fourth-placed Arsenal.

"Realistically the top four is going to be tough," says Sherwood. "If we can get something at Anfield it will be huge because it will give us a massive platform. Then if we take maximum points in the last six games we will be very close to being fourth."

Norwich manager Chris Hughton remains confident club-record signing Ricky van Wolfswinkel will soon break his goal drought. The 25-year-old, an £8.5m signing from Sporting Lisbon, has not scored since August.

"It is about confidence, and perhaps a real confident Ricky possibly would put those chances away last week," says Hughton. "But first and foremost we want a work ethic from him by getting into those positions and making the runs, and he does continually do that.

"There is nobody who wants to score goals and do well as he does. He just has to continue to work hard and hopefully that bit of fortune will start to turn in his favour and he can push on from there."

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers responds to comments made by Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood that the Reds may struggle with the pressure of being in the title race when the teams meet at Anfield.

"There was no expectation on us being where we are so there's certainly no pressure on ourselves," says Rodgers. "I suspect teams like Tottenham were expecting to challenge for the league this season.

"If you spend £100m you probably expect to challenge. I thought we showed there was no pressure the other night against Sunderland. We showed we can win in a different way and managed the game to see out a result. So there's certainly no pressure."

Liverpool's Raheem Sterling has been speaking to BBC One's Football Focus and the 19-year-old has cited manager Brendan Rodgers as the reason behind his form.

Sterling has contributed six Premier League goals to Liverpool's title challenge, and the former QPR youth player says of Rodgers: "He's helped me massively. Not only with my footballing game but if I need someone to talk to off the field he's there for me. I've got to really give credit to him and thank him a lot."

Asked about Liverpool's title chances, Sterling adds: "I don't want to be the one that says Liverpool can go on and win the league. But there's a real belief and togetherness in the squad, we're all working for each other. We all know what the dream is at the end of it."

The full interview with Raheem Sterling will appear on BBC One's Football Focus this Saturday, 29 March, at 12:00 GMT.

Ricky Lee Everett:, external Liverpool winning the league would be shocking - only there due to their lack of games. Chelsea should win it but City will on goal difference.

Haroon Rashid:, external If Liverpool can get a win against City in a couple of weeks then we are serious contenders for the title. It all depends on how that game goes.

Stephen Knowles:, external Man City will win it. Seven points from Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton away will be enough to go clear with games in hand. Chelsea and others are twitching, the nearer the line, the stronger City will get.

England women's captain Charlotte Edwards says she is "fine" despite having to briefly leave the field after being struck by a ball in her side's win over Bangladesh.

England beat the hosts by 79 runs to claim their second victory of the World Twenty20 and now face Sri Lanka in their final group game on Sunday.

"I'm really pleased with the win," says Edwards, who scored 80 off 69 balls. "To post that kind of score and be as ruthless as we were with the ball is really pleasing ahead of a big game on Sunday. There were a lot of signs today we are getting better."

  17. Footballpublished at 14:52 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2014

Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood believes Liverpool could be hampered by the "pressure" that comes with competing for the Premier League title. Spurs travel to Anfield on Sunday and are currently sixth in the table, seven points off the Champions League qualification places.

"The pressure is on Liverpool," says Sherwood. "After winning so many titles in their time, they are very, very close. Now they could believe they have something there which could slip through their grasp and believe me that's a really bad feeling, I know that feeling myself."

  18. Rugby Unionpublished at 14:47 Greenwich Mean Time 28 March 2014

World Cup winner Neil Back says it is "crucial" England win the Six Nations and complete a Grand Slam next season ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup. Stuart Lancaster's side were beaten to the honour by Ireland earlier this month.

"Perversely, not winning the Six Nations may have been a good thing because it means the hunger is still there," says Back, a World Cup winner in 2003. "It's crucial that England win next season's Six Nations and the Grand Slam, too, to take them into the World Cup.

"If you want to win the World Cup you must win seven matches and if you can't defeat Six Nations teams, then we'll have a problem winning the World Cup."

Stoke City can "make history" this season, says manager Mark Hughes. The Potters are currently 10th in the table and will reach 40 points if they beat Hull City at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday.

"We want to break records this year," says Hughes. "There are points tallies that we can break, our highest league finish, most home wins and most away wins.

"People may have thought we would struggle in terms of being able to compete this season, but that hasn't been the case and we are now in a position where we can make some history."
