    "This man is a genius. I've seen a lot of coaches but this one is extraordinary - this coach is a gift from above," Rummenigge said in an interview for Wednesday's Sport Bild.

    Asked about the manager's future, Rummenigge added: "Pep is not a long-contract man.

    "What I understand is that in southern Europe, they like to live for the now. But if Pep feels good, then he will stay. And that includes after 2016."

    Jessica Stretton, from Hemel Hempstead, wins individual archery gold at the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports World Junior Games in Stoke Mandeville.

    The 14-year-old was the youngest competitor in the field of under-23 athletes. Stretton, who has cerebral palsy, was only introduced to archery two years ago but, as well as shooting three personal bests during the competition, her score would have bagged her a bronze at this year's European Championships.

    Lewis Hamilton believes Daniel Ricciardo is one of the best drivers in Formula One at present following his impressive performances this season.

    Other than Hamilton and his Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg, Ricciardo is the only driver to win a grand prix, taking the chequered flag in two of the 11 races to date, propelling him to third in the drivers' standings.

    "He's been driving fantastically well from the beginning of the year," said Hamilton. "It's not only now, but through the whole year he's shown his capability and is going from strength to strength.

    "He's not only one of the nicest guys in the paddock, but also one of the best drivers here, for sure."

    Neymar returns to training with Barcelona, after the Brazil striker passed a medical exam in his continued recovery from a fractured vertebra sustained at this summer's World Cup.

    The Brazilian striker trained away from his team-mates on Tuesday after being examined by team doctors. The club says Neymar's progress will determine when he rejoins the team for regular training.

    Argentina forward Lionel Messi is also back in training following the World Cup.

    Matthew Macklin's WBC middleweight title eliminator against Jorge Sebastien Heiland in Dublin on August 30 has been postponed until later in the year because of an injury to Macklin's lead trainer Jamie Moore.

    Ex-European light-middleweight champion Jamie Moore was shot twice in Spain while at a training camp in Marbella. He remains in hospital.

    "I am disappointed to have to postpone my fight but in the light of the circumstances and the disruption to my preparation it is the right thing to do," said Macklin.

    James Anderson is England's best pace bowler in home conditions since Sir Ian Botham, but must cut out sledging to be regarded as a true great, says former England batsman Geoffrey Boycott.

    Anderson, 32, is just 12 wickets behind Botham's tally of 383 Test victims heading into Thursday's fourth Test against India at his home ground of Old Trafford.

    "In English conditions, Anderson is as good a fast-medium bowler as there has been and the best England have had since Sir Ian Botham," Boycott said.

    However, Boycott has warned that Anderson is in danger of being remembered as a "foul-mouthed abusive bowler".

    Britain's Steph Slater says she is "surprised" by her world record time to win the S8 100m butterfly gold at the IPC Swimming European Championships in Eindhoven.

    "I'm surprised at the time, but not the performance," Slater told BBC Sport. "I've been training really hard and after Jess took the world record off me I was determined to get it back. Hopefully there is more to come."

    Tiger Woods "will suffer" if he plays through the pain of a back injury in this week's US PGA at Valhalla, according to Colin Montgomerie.

    Woods has until 10 minutes before Thursday's tee-off time to declare himself fit to play, having withdrawn from last weekend's WGC-Bridgestone Invitational after jarring his back.

    Montgomerie, who qualified for the US PGA for the first time since 2010 by winning the first of his two senior major titles this season, told BBC Radio 5 live: "How can he play again this year, never mind within three days?

    "This is a big golf course and the rough is heavy again. He's hitting the ball - I hate to say - not straight; he will be in the rough and he will suffer. Whether it's good for his long-term future in the game to play here or not, I am not sure."
