    Robbie Savage
    BBC Radio 5 live

"1. Chelsea, 2. Man City, 3. Arsenal, 4. Liverpool. Bottom three: Burnley, Southampton & Aston Villa.

"It's going to be a fascinating season - it's now a two-tier league: the top seven and 13 teams who are fighting relegation. Chelsea start as favourites because they had the best defensive record last year and have added two brilliant attacking threats in Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa."

You might have thought last night's Real Madrid side, featuring Ronaldo, Bale, Rodriguez et al, was pretty tasty, but Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo leads on an equally mouth-watering line-up - that of La Liga rivals Barcelona. Mundo has a go at predicting how the Catalans might line up next season - with summer signings Luis Suarez and Ivan Rakitic joining Lionel Messi and Neymar in a 'Brutal Eleven'. The paper even takes the liberty of including yet-to-be-signed Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado in the side - but how will the Colombian feel about being pencilled in at right-back?

  5. United in for Rojo?published at 08:43 British Summer Time 13 August 2014

The Independent reports Manchester United are hopeful of signing Sporting Lisbon's Argentina left-back Marcos Rojo. However, the article, external goes on to suggest the club are not interested in Fiorentina's Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado. The back page features a picture of Great Britain's Jo Pavey who, at the age of 40, won gold in the 10,000m at the European Championships.

    Premier League

BBC Sport's Luke Reddy at the Premier League launch day: "A saloon car pulls up and people in suits begin to gather around it. With this level of security it must be someone regal...it's Roberto Martinez and Phil Jagielka.

"The Everton manager and his main central defender look chirpy as they make their way into a makeshift 'green room'. The Blues, buoyed by the signings of Gareth Barry, Muhamed Besic, Brendan Galloway and Romelu Lukaku, start their campaign at Leicester City on Saturday. City boss Nigel Pearson will be here shortly."

    Phil McNulty
    BBC chief football writer

    Champions: Chelsea

"I tipped them for the title last year when Jose Mourinho returned but the lack of a goalscorer - and narrow defeats at places such as Aston Villa and Crystal Palace - ended their hopes.

"Now that Diego Costa has arrived from Atletico Madrid and Cesc Fabregas is back in the Premier League I believe they will put that right and Mourinho will be a Premier League champion once more."

    Premier League trophy

BBC Sport's Luke Reddy: "A high perimeter fence, trucks with huge satellites on top and two security checks at the gate.

"It sounds like a presidential appearance but this is indeed the Premier League launch in Brent, north-west London. Excitable media types are not in short supply.

"The sun is beating down on a gleaming Premier League trophy and the man who lifted it in May, Vincent Kompany, will be here later to have perhaps one more look at it before his Manchester City side have to start scrapping to defend it."
