    Being as we're talking about rugby, it seemed an enjoyable evening was had by all at Welford Road last night as the Barbarians beat Leicester Tigers 59-26, external in a match which hat 13 tries. England fast bowler Stuart Broad was at the match and he tweeted: We had a great time at Leicester Tigers last night proper rugby to watch! The Barbarian lads were on fire!

    Wales have lost their last nine Tests against the Wallabies, but captain Sam Warburton says there is no "psychological barrier" to overcome if his side are to beat Australia in Cardiff on Saturday.

    "The first time I came into the squad was on the back of beating them in 2008, so you always have the belief," said the Cardiff Blues flanker.

    Remember Mark Aizlewood? The former Wales international could be about to set a pretty impressive record.

    The ex-Bristol City, Leeds, Charlton, Newport and Cardiff defender might make a playing comeback aged 55.

    Carmarthen Town's manager Mark Aizlewood is set to include himself in the squad for Saturday's Welsh Premier game at Rhyl because of an injury crisis.

    The current record holder in the Welsh league is former Carmarthen manager Tomi Morgan, who played aged 53. Stanley Matthews is the oldest player to play in England's top flight at 50.

    Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany says that £60m and two Ferrraris would not be enough to convince him to join Arsenal.

    Don't take offence though Arsenal fans - it was only a tongue in cheek Twitter conversation with everyone's favourite celebrity fan Piers Morgan.

    The former editor, an Arsenal fan, asked Kompany what it would take for him to join the Londoners after last night's collapse to Anderlecht.

    But it seems the boy isn't for turning. "Those days have gone Pearsie, I play for glory," Kompany tweeted, external in reaction to Morgan's offer.

    3-0 up and needing just a win to secure qualification, with two games left to play, nothing could go wrong. Right?

    Wrong. The Belgians broke Gunners hearts and left Arsene Wenger's men needing a point to qualify.

    "Annoyed? Yes. It is very disappointing. We were very poor," said Wenger.

    Moving away from Champions League football, England's Stuart Broad and Joe Root have been named in the International Cricket Council's Test team of the year.

    The team was selected by a panel chaired by the ICC cricket committee chairman and former India captain Anil Kumble,

    Root made three big hundreds in the English summer, scoring 200, 154 and 149, while Broad - one of the few bright spots down under - made contributions with both bat and ball and took 19 wickets as India were beaten 3-1.
