    Football Association chairman Greg Dyke has written to Fifa's top executives demanding a report into alleged World Cup corruption is published in full.

    A 42-page summary report was released last week but quickly criticised by Michael Garcia, who spent two years investigating the claims of wrongdoing.

    The report cleared Russia and Qatar of corruption over their 2018 and 2022 bids but said England broke rules.

    Dyke wants Garcia's findings published, writing: "We cannot go on like this."

    Garcia is due to meet the report's author, Fifa ethics judge, Hans-Joachim Eckert, on Thursday to discuss his criticisms.

    Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has been suspended without pay for at least the remainder of 2014 season.

    Peterson will not be considered for reinstatement before April 2015, the National Football League announced, for violating the NFL Personal Conduct Policy in an "incident of abusive discipline that he inflicted on his four-year-old son."

    A statement released by the NFL Players Association says Peterson will appeal against the suspension. It added: "Since Adrian's legal matter was adjudicated, the NFL has ignored their obligations and attempted to impose a new and arbitrary disciplinary proceeding."

    Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm will be out of action for three months after suffering a fractured ankle in training.

    The club say it is a "big blow" to lose the 31-year-old midfielder, who retired from international football after Germany's World Cup win in July.

    The Bundesliga leaders are undefeated this season and face Hoffenheim on Saturday. They travel to Manchester City in the Champions League next week.

    The decision to stage the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha ensures that the big sporting events keep on coming for Qatar.

    Here are just a few of the major sporting events the country has hosted or is about to:

    Football: The 2022 World Cup, although controversy on how the tournament was awarded to the tiny Gulf state, and which month of the year it will be staged, continues to rumble on.

    Tennis: The ATP and WTA stage world class events in Qatar with the men's Qatar ExxonMobil Open in January and the women's Qatar Total Open a month later.

    Golf: The Qatar Masters, part of the European Tour, has been staged at the Doha Golf Club since 1998 and has been won by the likes of Ernie Els, Retief Goosen, Adam Scott and Sergio Garcia.

    Athletics: Qatar has been a regular stop on the world athletics circuit since the Doha Grand Prix was first held in 1997. Doha staged the first ever Diamond League meeting at the Qatar Sports Club stadium in May 2010, two months after hosting the world Indoor Championships.

    Motorsport: The Qatar motorcycle Grand Prix opens each MotoGP season.

    The other bidders in the race to host the 2019 IAAF World Athletics Championships were Barcelona and Eugene, Oregon.

    The bidding team from Doha, the capital of Qatar, have asked that the championship be moved to October for climate reasons. Traditionally they are held in August.

    Pakistan stuttered to 34-2 at the close on a turning pitch after New Zealand's tailenders helped the Kiwis post 403 on the second day of the second test in Dubai.

    Black Caps legspinner Ish Sodhi clean bowled Shan Masood for 13 and offspinner Mark Craig cut short Taufeeq Umar's comeback to Test matches when he had him stumped on 16 just before the end of the day's play.

    Pakistan were forced to draft in new opening batsmen because the in-form Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Hafeez were injured during the 248-run victory in the first Test last week.

    Birmingham City have confirmed that former striker Nikola Zigic is training with the club.

    The 34-year-old Serbia international has been without a club since leaving at the end of last season after four years at St Andrew's.

    There is currently no formal agreement between club and player beyond this week, but BBC WM 95.6 understands the club are open-minded about a contract.

    Gloucester confirm that full-back Rob Cook dislocated his shoulder in their 22-15 home defeat by Harlequins on Friday.

    The 30-year-old was replaced after hurting himself trying to score, only for the television match official to rule that he had been held up.

    Gloucester have not said how long they expect to be without Cook, who has been a Premiership ever-present this season.

    Rafael Nadal says he will return to playing at the start of the year.

    The 14-time Grand Slam champion hasn't played since having his appendix removed this month, forcing him to miss the season-ending ATP finals.

    "I will play in Abu Dhabi in January, and after that I will play my first official tournament in Doha," said Nadal.

    The Abu Dhabi exhibition tournament is scheduled for Jan 1-3, with the tournament in Doha, Qatar, scheduled for the following week.

    Martinez says: "Teams have invested massive amounts of money into bringing in the best foreign players to play in that position - Fernando and Fernandinho at Man City - but you go through all the players in that position and Gareth has been the most consistent.

    "He has been overlooked for England - I don't know the reason behind it."

    Somerset sign Australia-born Jim Allenby from Glamorgan, with fellow all-rounder Craig Meschede moving in the opposite direction on a season-long loan for 2015.

    Allenby, 32, has been with the Welsh county since 2009 and signed a four-year contract last year, but has been allowed to rejoin former coach Matthew Maynard, now Somerset's director of cricket, at Taunton.

    The out-of-favour striker will link up with Posh again on a short-term deal and was expected to join them for training this morning.

    Manchester United are unlikely to make any big signings in January, according to chief executive Ed Woodward.

    Asked if the Premier League club would spend when the transfer window reopened, he says: "Nothing has changed to the last call. We are not looking for short term fixes. We have targets for next summer, should they become available in January we will have to look at it but it is a low probability."

    Woodward, speaking to the media after announcing the Premier League club's 2014-15 financial results, adds he has "a real feeling we are at the start of something special".

    "We're obviously the underdogs because they are deservedly the number one team in the world. Despite the close scorelines against Scotland and England, I think they played extremely well and they're number one.

    An update from the cricket where New Zealand have been bowled out for 403 in the first innings of the second Test against Pakistan.

    The Black Caps added 125 for the last four wickets, with Mark Craig hitting 43 and BJ Watling 39.

    Left-arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar was the best of the Pakistan bowlers with figures of 4-137.
