    Great Britain's most decorated female Winter Paralympian Jade Etherington says she quit skiing because the sport's governing body did not back her enough.

    The visually impaired 23-year-old won four medals at Sochi 2014, but retired earlier this month.

    "If there was support there - be it coach or management - then it definitely would have changed my decision," Etherington tells BBC Sport.

    The 26-year-old flanker says the laboured display by an under-strength Welsh side against the Fijians will have "no bearing" on Saturday's match against the All Blacks.

    Sussex opener Luke Wells hopes to fully realise his potential next summer after holding talks with the club's coaching staff.

    The 23-year-old, who signed a new contract last week, narrowly fell short of 1,000 Championship runs in each of the last two seasons and believes he has "underachieved" so far in his career, despite playing for England Lions.

    He has set his sights on making the senior England side and tells BBC Sussex: "I feel that if I had performed to my true ability over the last couple of years, I would have been closer in that regard than what I am at the moment."

    Some bad news for German champions Bayern Munich and their skipper Philipp Lahm.

    The Bundesliga giants say that Germany's World Cup-winning captain, 31, has suffered "a serious injury" in training.

    "He is currently undergoing an examination. Diagnosis due by this evening," Bayern add on their official Twitter account.

    New Zealand have reached 369-8 at tea on the second day of the second Test against Pakistan in Dubai.

    Tim Southee (nine) and Ish Sodhi (12) are at the crease as New Zealand added 126 runs in the two sessions after resuming at 243-3.

    Ehsan Adil, Yasir Shah and Zulfiqar Babar have taken two wickets apiece for Pakistan, who lead the three-match series 1-0 after winning the first Test by 248 runs.

    Total revenue to Sept 30 down 9.9% to £88.7m.

    Broadcasting revenue down 13% to £16.8m.

    Matchday revenue down 21.8% to £15.1m.

    Commercial revenue down 5.2% to £56.8.

    United expect overall revenue for 2014-15 to be between £385m and £395m. Last year it was £433m.

    Manchester United report a 9.9% fall in their latest financial results.

    Total revenue to September 30 is down to £88.7m and reflects the cost of United's failure to qualify for the Champions League.

    Reds' executive vice chairman Ed Woodward said: "While we recognize that the 2014/15 fiscal year financial results will reflect our absence from the Champions League, we signed the largest kit sponsorship deal in the history of sport in the first quarter.

    "With that concluded, we are excited to focus our efforts on the meaningful growth opportunities in sponsorship, digital media and retail and merchandising."

    Reports of a bust-up between close pals Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka appear wide of the mark.

    There was an apparent heated exchange of words between Wawrinka and Federer's support team during the closing stages of their epic ATP World Tour Final semi-final in London.

    The Swiss pair - due to team up to take on France in the final of the Davis Cup later this week (if Federer overcomes a back injury) - apparently spoke about the issue afterwards.

    But any fears their friendship may have cooled have been put to bed after Federer tweeted this pic, external of the Swiss team, including Wawrinka's cheeky gesture. The photo was then retweeted by Wawrinka. So rest easy Swiss tennis fans, all again seems well in their world.

    Wiggins, who won the Tour de France and Olympic road time-trial gold at the London 2012 Olympics, plans to target the team pursuit on the track at the 2016 Rio Games.

    The Premier League issues a statement in response to Ofcom opening an investigation into how the English top-flight sells live TV media rights for its matches in the UK.

    The investigation has been launched after Virgin Media complained that the process is "in breach of competition law".

    "The Premier League currently sells its audio-visual rights in a way that is compatible with UK and EU competition law and will continue to do so. We will be able to demonstrate that as part of this process," says the statement.

    Champion jockey AP McCoy admits his quest for a record 300 winners in a season is likely to have been ended by injury.

    The 40-year-old Northern Irishman has been out for nearly two weeks and will be assessed again on Thursday.

    McCoy, who holds the jump racing record of 289 seasonal winners, said of the 300: "It looks very unlikely although you never say never and never give up.

    "I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's not going to be easy."
