    Amir Khan wants to beat Devon Alexander in such style in Las Vegas on Sunday that public demand will make it inevitable that his next fight after will be a meeting with welterweight king Floyd Mayweather.

    "I want the boxing fans around the world to demand a fight between me and Floyd - I want them to demand it when they see Amir Khan in such a good fight," he said.

    "It's going to be a tough fight but I don't just want to win it, I want to win it in style."

    BBC Sport's Simon Stone at the Aon Training Complex: "Louis van Gaal looked businesslike in a pin-striped suit at Carrington this afternoon. And it was the same when he started speaking too.

    "The Manchester United manager wasn't exactly dismissive in his media briefing ahead of Sunday's game against Liverpool but he was always in control and there was no humour.

    "In revealing there were only four players sidelined, Van Gaal was confirming the returns of Phil Jones and Rafael, who have both been out since October.

    "Van Gaal also shrugged off the midweek criticism of 'ex-legend' Gary Neville and Sir Alex Ferguson's former assistant-manager Mike Phelan.

    "Over the past few weeks he has rebuked the media when they have started questions by telling him what the fans think. Today, when asked what the fans had been telling him about this particular fixture, Van Gaal retorted: 'You know them better than I because I hear in every press conference that the fans are saying this or that so I assume you are speaking to the supporters a lot.'"

    South African Branden Grace holds a five shot lead at the halfway stage of the European Tour's Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek in Malelane, South Africa.

    Grace added a 66 to his opening day 62 and has made 17 birdies over the first two round to reach 16 under. Former Ryder Cup player Francesco Molinari of Italy is second after a 65.

    Roma striker Gervinho has said that the way he was treated at Arsenal by manager Arsene Wenger has made him hate his former club.

    "As a child I dreamt of playing for Arsenal because I loved them, now I hate them for the way Wenger treated me," he told Gazzetta Dello Sport., external

    Gervinho spend two seasons at the Emirates Stadium, scoring only 11 goals, before he moved to the Italian capital for £8m in August 2013.

    Colchester United goalkeeper Sam Walker has signed a new one-year contract extension until the end of next season.

    The 23-year-old arrived from Chelsea in January after two previous loan spells.

    Walker told BBC Essex: "I'm very happy and very comfortable here. I'm playing first-team football and developing so this is the right place to be."
