    Southampton manager Ronald Koeman says the club have offered midfielder Jack Cork a new contract.

    The four-year deal that Cork signed in July 2011 expires in the summer.

    Koeman revealed in December he had recommended to the board that 25-year-old Cork should be offered a new deal.

    "The board of the club is talking to him and his agent," Koeman told BBC South Today. "We've offered him a contract."

    Murray, 27, earlier beat Matosevic 6-3 6-2 while Watson, 22, overcame Dellacqua 6-3 6-4 in Perth.

    Now he has only one - and how he enjoyed telling everyone.

    Former world number one Tiger Woods has confirmed he will start his 2015 season at the Phoenix Open, arguably the most raucous event on the PGA Tour.

    Woods suffered an injury-plagued 2014 which saw him undergo back surgery, fail to qualify for the FedEx Cup play-offs or Ryder Cup, and split from coach Sean Foley.

    After missing the cut in the US PGA Championship in August, the 39-year-old had a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

    "It will be great to return to Phoenix," the 14-time major winner said on his website. "The crowds are amazing and always enthusiastic."

    On his Twitter , externalpage, Woods posted a link to his hole-in-one in 1997 on the 16th, a short par three which attracts massive crowds who often boo when players miss the green.

    Wolves have striker Rajiv Van La Parra fit again for Sunday's trip to Blackburn after missing last weekend's 0-0 FA Cup third round draw at Fulham, reports BBC WM's Mike Taylor.

    Fellow front runner Nouha Dicko, who only played as a sub at Craven Cottage because of a bad back, is now fully fit.

    Midfielder Kevin McDonald returns after suspension and defender Kortney Hause, signed up on a new long-term deal on Thursday, is available again after being cup-tied.

    Blackpool have made their second and third signings of the day, Sunderland's David Ferguson and Connor Oliver. joining forward Saer Sane, who arrived earlier.

    Defender Ferguson and midfielder Oliver, both 20, have been on trial from the Premier League club and have penned 18-month contracts, with the option of another year.

    The Seasiders are nine points from safety at the bottom of the Championship.

    It seems Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal isn't too keen to share his transfer plans with the media. (Not that he should, of course)

    "I do not discuss that with you," says the Dutchman. "You can ask that any way you want. But remember, I bought Victor Valdes in very quickly."

    He does, however, reveal, Ashley Young will be out for four to six weeks with a hamstring injury and that his aim is to "form the best team in the world".

    Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal says that left-back Luke Shaw, who was substituted in the FA Cup third round win at Yeovil last Sunday, will be fit to face his former club when the Red Devils play Southampton on Sunday.

    Left wing-back Ashley Young is out of the game, while midfielder Daley Blind has returned to training after a lengthy lay-off and defender Marcos Rojo is scheduled to do the same on Saturday.

    Hard to know for certain but we're fairly sure Andy Murray isn't taking part in a modern-day version of It's A Knockout, but is instead in training.

    Standing on what appears to be an oversized beach-ball, holding a tennis racquet, and producing quite a grimace, the Scot posted this photo on Instagram, external, with the message: "Post match work out... Don't try this at home."

    Rest assured Andy, we won't.

    Coventry City have completed striker Frank Nouble's signing on a short-term deal until the end of the season.

    The 23-year old Londoner, who initially signed in September on loan, had his contract terminated by Championship side Ipswich Town earlier this week.

    No one can accuse Carlisle United manager Keith Curle of not being straight-talking.

    Speaking to the club's website, external about the return of midfielder Alex Marrow to training, Curle said: "The situation is that Alex wants to leave the football club. I also want Alex to leave the football club.

    "Fortunately for Alex, while he is here, and doesn't want to be here, he still gets paid. Unfortunately for me while Alex is here, and doesn't want to be here, I've still got to pay him.

    "I've asked Alex to leave and not take the money he's owed. That has been my negotiating strategy. We've obviously hit a stumbling block on that.

    "In the short term the beauty of what we've got with working for a very honourable football club is that we will continue to pay Alex for his services, even though he doesn't want to be here."

    We're just guessing here, but it sounds like the two of them might not be going out for a drink together anytime soon...

    Now here's the sort of story you don't hear every day.

    Former Miami Dolphins running back Rob Konrad had to swim nine miles to shore after falling off his boat while fishing.

    Konrad, 38, swam the equivalent of 290 lengths of an Olympic-size swimming pool after his 36-foot boat, which was on auto pilot, drifted away from him off the South Florida coast.

    The United States Coast Guard reported that friends became concerned when he failed to return for dinner.

    After up to 12 hours in the water, Konrad - who played 82 games for the Dolphins between 1999-2004 - had treatment for hypothermia symptoms.

    Steve Bruce caused something of a stir today with his comments in support of convicted rapist Ched Evans.

    Here are the thoughts of the man who asked the Hull manager the question, BBC Look North's Simon Clark.

    "As a seasoned football manager who has taken charge of more than 700 games Steve Bruce is always willing to answer questions posed by journalists at his weekly news conference. Normally these are about routine matters such as injuries and potential signings he would like to make.

    "Today though even experienced journalists were surprised at how much detail Bruce went into when I asked him if he was one of the three Premier League managers who had spoken to Oldham Athletic chairman Simon Corney.

    "Bruce had no hesitation in admitting that he had spoken to Mr Corney about the Ched Evans matter before giving the news conference his take on how he viewed the Evans case.

    "Steve Bruce is not a manager you normally associate with controversy but his comments today have certainly stirred public opinion."

    Scotland have announced their final squad for the World Cup in New Zealand and Australia, with uncapped Durham teenager Gavin Main the one to miss out from the 16 players in Dubai for a warm-up series.

    Preston Mommsen was confirmed as captain last month, with Kyle Coetzer in the vice-captain's role.

    Scotland will face New Zealand, England, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Australia in Pool A.

    The tournament runs from 14 February to 29 March 2015.
