    Swansea City are in talks with Kyle Naughton after having a bid accepted for the Tottenham full-back.

    The fee for the former England Under-21 defender is believed to be around £5m.

    The likely arrival of Naughton, 26, could mean the Swans are ready to sell current first choice left-back Neil Taylor, who is interesting two clubs.

    The IAAF says three Russian Olympic champion race-walkers have been provisionally suspended as part of an investigation into doping in Russian athletics.

    The three are Sergei Kirdyapkin, who won gold in the men's 50-kilometer race at the 2012 London Olympics, and Valery Borchin and Olga Kaniskina, who won men's and women's gold in the 20K race at the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

    Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has said Lucas Leiva is the "driving force" behind his old club's recent resurgence.

    "If you look at the stats, the influence he has made has been noticeable to say the least," says Carragher , externalof the midfielder who has started nine of Liverpool's last 10 league games but has been linked with a move to Italy.

    "The one game that stands out is the Manchester United game, not because of the 3-0 defeat but because it was the one game Lucas didn't play. Brendan Rodgers made a few changes and brought his technical players back into the team.

    "He has had a big effect on the team and he's got to stay there."

    Victor Valdes is a popular man in the Manchester United dressing room because the squad enjoy bending the goalkeeper's ear about life in Barcelona with Lionel Messi and co.

    The Spaniard, 33, agreed an 18-month deal with the Old Trafford club earlier this month and is set to make his first-team debut against Cambridge in the FA Cup on Friday.

    Colchester United have signed Ipswich Town striker Jack Marriott on loan until the end of the season.

    The 20-year-old has scored four times in 19 Conference games for Woking this season and had a short spell with Carlisle at the start of the campaign.

    Meanwhile, Ipswich full-back Elliott Hewitt has extended his loan spell at Colchester by a further month.

    New England Patriots defensive lineman Vince Wilfork rescued a woman injured in a car crash, hours after helping his team reach the Super Bowl.

    Earlier, the 33-year-old had played in his side's 45-7 defeat of Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship game. But on his way home from the Gillette Stadium with his wife, Wilfork saw a jeep roll over with a woman inside.

    "The only thing I thought about was seeing somebody in there and getting them to safety," he said. ''It was something that we saw and we knew she needed help and we helped.''
