  1. The steaks are too highpublished at 19:35 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2015

Swansea City manager Garry Monk has likened the January transfer window to a cattle market.

The Swans recruited four players last month and Monk has not ruled out further signings before the window closes.

    Cow

"It can be a bit ridiculous at times. The summer [transfer window] is a lot easier than this one," Monk said.

"[It's] a cattle market and everyone's selling all their cows and they're overpricing the cows - some of them are bad.

"If the valuations are wrong, which they normally are in this window, you can't do the deal."

  2. Will Bony make the difference?published at 19:32 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2015

    Former England midfielder Danny Murphy
    BBC Sport

"I think Wilfried Bony is a very good footballer and guarantees goals. He gives Manchester City the extra striker but can he bridge the gap to the top?

"Will Manuel Pellegrini play him and Sergio Aguero together in the big games? I still think Chelsea are title favourites."

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has told BBC Radio Solent that there will be no incomings at the Championship club today. That looks to have ended the Cherries' current pursuit of Birmingham winger Demarai Gray, after having a £5m bid rejected by their Championship rivals.

Ed Harwood in Sussex: At Luton Airport, just heard Cristiano Ronaldo's ex-girlfriend's mother's cousin's boyfriend on the phone; they are having paella for dinner. Could this lead anywhere? More to follow...

Jordan: Less than four hours to go. It's nearly Leandro Damiao time for Spurs.

  5. Lennon updatepublished at 19:24 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2015

    Stoke City

If ever there was a day to give you no news, it's today. I can tell you there is no further progress on a possible loan move to the Britannia Stadium for Aaron Lennon. If a deal was to go through it would be until the end of the season but the club say a move for the Tottenham winger still hangs in the balance.

  6. Albion to do some late businesspublished at 19:23 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2015

    Former England midfielder Danny Murphy
    BBC Sport

"There is enough at West Brom, especially with Tony Pulis managing. Victor Anichebe can do more, but it wouldn't surprise me if Pulis does some late business. The type of player they want though, may not be in their wage structure."

  7. Eto'o causing grief?published at 19:21 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2015

    Italian Serie A

BBC World Service Sport's John Bennett:

"Earlier today I told you about reports that Samuel Eto'o refused to train today at Sampdoria, just six days after joining the Italian club from Everton.

"He was said to be angry that head coach Sinisa Mihajlovic had organised a double training session.

"Mihajlovic has now been quoted in Gazetta Dello Sport, external saying: "I consider this to be showing a big lack of respect to me and the rest of the team. I don't know why he left or what the club will do." Mihajlovic also denies having an argument with Eto'o."

Andrew in Richhill: Lionel Messi has been spotted in the queue at the fish and chip van outside the Britannia Stadium. The word on the street is that he wants to finally dispel the myth that he couldn't do it on a wet and windy night in Stoke.

There is a growing belief here that Rickie Lambert could well end up at Aston Villa this evening. Hands up who expected Liverpool to make a profit on Lambert?

    Former England midfielder Danny Murphy
    BBC Sport

"Danny Ings looks like a player that didn't want to be at Burnley at the weekend. By keeping him, they may be cutting off their nose to spite their face. I am not sure he will refocus to keep Burnley in the Premier League."

  12. Cuadrado to Chelsea 'a natural fit'published at 19:14 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2015

    Alex Stewart
    Football Manager computer game expert

Today Fifa Interactive World Cup 2014 Grand Final competitor David Bytheway, external and Football Manager expert Alex Stewart will be providing insight and analysis of players involved in deals from a gamer's perspective.

"Some players just seem to fit a team and Juan Cuadrado ends up being bought by Chelsea in almost every game of Football Manager I play. He doesn't improve enormously, but with great ratings for pace, first touch and dribbling, he doesn't need to, and he averages fantastic ratings for the Blues, justifying his roughly £30 million price tag."

"Real Sociedad possibly signing Danny Ings would mean they get him on a free at the end of the season. It is great move from David Moyes. If it doesn't work out, he could move back to the Premier League for a fee. He is a Moyes type player too, works hard and can play up top on his own."

Accrington need a keeper though. I urge you to watch the mighty Cobblers' five goals past them on Saturday. The keeper's had an absolute mare...
