Yatish Patel:, external Liverpool v Arsenal in December 2014 at Anfield. £49 ticket for this 'restricted view'.

Chris Barrett:, external Played Gaelic football and had to run a herd of 60 sheep off the pitch beforehand. Then had to get ready on a pitch full of sheep droppings.

Koech Chepkole:, external My primary school football pitch in Kenya is built on a near 30 degree slope. It's the main reason I'm not a professional footballer.

Ah, shame. Are you any good at grass skiing, though?

Nottingham Forest defender Jack Hobbs is expected to be out for three to four weeks with a hamstring problem, suffered in Saturday's 4-4 draw with Blackpool.

  4. Get involved: The Wayne Rooney debatepublished at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

Opinion remains firmly divided on Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney's alleged dive to win a penalty towards the end of last night's 3-1 FA Cup fifth-round win at Preston. And we mean divided.

Sati Clare:, external Rooney dives in a World Cup final and scores the pen to win. How many of you will complain then I wonder? Get real.

Richard Johnson:, external If it wasn't a dive, he would have managed to carry on. Never found the need to use a Fosbury flop for someone's leg before.

Tobias Trott:, external Not a dive!!!! Kevin Kilbane is just jealous.

Ian Wray:, external Only reason people defend Rooney is cause he the England captain! If it was anyone else it be different! Dive all day long.

Robin Jenner:, external One of the offences in the laws is "trips or attempts to trip an opponent" No need to actually make contact!!!!

MJ:, external So are we saying that penalties can be given when there is NO contact? Set a dangerous precedent and will ruin the game.

  5. Coates warning for Villapublished at 15:14 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

Aston Villa manager Tim SherwoodImage source, Reuters

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood's first game since taking charge of the club will be at home to Stoke on Saturday and the Midlands club will be hoping to get the kind of boost a new manager can often provide.

But Potters chairman Peter Coates told the Evening Sentinel: "The appointment of a new manager doesn't mean they have won the game already.

"The idea the world is suddenly transformed after bringing in a new manager doesn't ring true.

"I think it's about 50-50 statistically over whether you win or lose that first match."

  6. World Championship dates confirmedpublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

Now the dates for the competition have been confirmed on the eve of the 2015 Track World Championships in Paris, with the original scheduled dates of 24-28 February amended to avoid a clash with the Six Nations rugby union tournament.

Ciaran:, external As we're doing #myworstvenue, this was the view £25 got Liverpool fans at Stamford Bridge recently. Ridiculous.

Conner Paterson:, external Stranraer! In the middle of nowhere, took 20 minutes at the turnstile, half an hour for a burger and the terracing is just a hill.

Paula PP:, external Did a 30k race that went over a train track. Unfortunately, I arrived just as train did - and had to wait for five minutes for it to pass.

We're asking for your worst sporting venue, after Ronnie O'Sullivan compared Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena - home to snooker's Welsh Open this week - to a "shopping mall" and an "aircraft hangar".

  8. 'England have moved on'published at 15:01 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

England opener Moeen AliImage source, Getty Images

England face New Zealand on Friday in their next match at the World Cup and opener Moeen Ali says the side have got over their thrashing by Australia in their opening game.

"We are very disappointed we lost the game in that manner but we are over that now and we are just going to look forward to the next game," he says.

"You know you have to move on in such a big tournament. We've had a bad start but that happens and, hopefully, we can get on to a run and get some runs under our belts."

  9. Powell accepts banpublished at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

    Sam PowellImage source, Getty Images

Wigan Warriors half-back Sam Powell will miss Saturday's World Club Series clash with Brisbane Broncos after accepting a one-match ban.

Powell was charged by the Rugby Football League's match-review panel for a tackle on Huddersfield prop Eorl Crabtree during last Friday's 24-14 win over the Giants.

Warriors coach Shaun Wane was preparing to accompany his player to a disciplinary hearing in Leeds on Tuesday evening but the club have announced instead that Powell has submitted an early-guilty plea to the Grade B offence.

  10. Newey unhappy with F1 rulespublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

Red Bull chief technical officer Adrian Newey has criticised Formula One regulations.

Newey will shift his focus away from grand prix racing to helping Sir Ben Ainslie design a yacht to challenge for the America's Cup.

And he said: "Formula One should be a blend of the driver, chassis and engine, but the current regulations have swung too much in favour of the engine, combined with a very restrictive set of regulations on the chassis.

"As the engine manufacturer has the benefit, it's difficult for the chassis manufacturer to make enough of a difference to overturn that."

  11. There's no-one quite like grandmapublished at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

Preston defender Scott LairdImage source, PA

As a Preston left-back, you wouldn't necessarily expect Scott Laird to have a goal bonus written into his contract with the League One club.

But he doesn't need to - his grandma, Pat Smith, makes sure he is duly rewarded.

Laird scored the opening goal of the game in his side's 3-1 defeat by Manchester United in the FA Cup fifth round on Monday.

"Every time we scored as kids, she used to give me and my brothers a pound," the 26-year-old told BBC Somerset. "Even though I'm 26 now, I still carry that tradition on."

  12. Akram waits for Pakistan invitepublished at 14:28 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

Former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram is keen to help his country's side at the World Cup but says he has yet to be invited to do so.

Akram is working as a broadcaster at the tournament in Australia and New Zealand and wants to help Pakistan bounce back from a defeat by arch-rivals India in their opening game.

"The irony is neither the Pakistan cricket authorities nor anyone in the team has approached me to help or advise them," Akram told the Geo News Channel.

"I am here in the World Cup and I want to go and help our players adjust and do well in the tournament in these conditions. But I can't do this without an invitation."

  13. 'Rabbit in headlights'published at 14:23 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

Mark Selby after his Welsh Open win over Alex Davies: "Alex is a better player than what he showed.

"I still remember my first time going out [in front of the television cameras] and I was like a rabbit in headlights. If Alex would have got off to a good start and settled it would have been tougher.

"The main thing for me it to keep winning and, when you get to the latter stages, try to peak. You don't want to peak too early."

Selby won his first ranking title since becoming world champion by claiming the German Masters in early February.

"Up until then I did feel the pressure of being world champion," he adds.

  14. Selby eases throughpublished at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

Mark Selby - sporting a snazzy maroon number - has comfortably negotiated his first round match against fellow Englishman Alex Davies.

The world champion has won 4-0 at Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena, and you can see the latest action from the tournament now by clicking the 'live coverage' tab at the top of this page.

Crikey, William. Was he interfering with play? On second thoughts, don't answer that.

  16. Now that's loudpublished at 14:07 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

    Millennium StadiumImage source, Getty Images

The Millennium Stadium in Wales is the loudest of all the Six Nations venues, according to a study carried out by Press Association Sport.

The decibel (dB) levels have been tracked at the six fixtures so far in this year's competition and the Millennium Stadium's average of 92.0dB was comfortably the highest.

It had a top reading of 100dB, which was beaten only by the roar at full-time of Ireland's win over France when the Aviva Stadium crowd in Dublin hit 101.0dB.

Twickenham was third on the list when it comes to average loudness.

  17. Get involved: My worst sporting venuepublished at 14:04 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

Ronnie O'Sullivan has compared Cardiff's Motorpoint Arena - venue for snooker's Welsh Open this week - to a "shopping mall" and an "aircraft hangar". So we're asking you for your worst sporting venues. You're continuing to send us some crackers. Please keep them coming in, and we'll work through as many as we can.

Allan Morris in Manchester, via text: An inter-club snooker match in Eindhoven. They only had two tables and one was no more than two feet from the wall (side cushion). You had to use a specially shortened cue, and if the cue-ball was on the cush, you had no chance.

Ken, also in Manchester, via text: Started an 18 hole game of golf in Germany. There were 18 tees but only six holes. It was mad! The fairways were like Piccadilly Circus at rush hour, cries of 'fore' every two minutes with people diving for cover. We was supposed to play each hole three times, we played two holes, then went safely to the beer keller.

Mike in Chester, via text: The Olympic Stadium in Athens. Champions League final 2007. Our seats were directly behind the overhanging scoreboard (Liverpool end). So much so, all we could see was the goalmouth nearest us. Ended up in the aisles. UEFA excelled themselves once again.

  18. Birmingham analysispublished at 13:56 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

Let's go back to the story we brought you at 11:59; that the company which owns Championship club Birmingham City has gone into receivership.

Football finance expert Peter Knowles says the "saga" at Birmingham International Holdings Limited has been going on for more than five years.

He says: "The accountants will be looking at the company and, as we know, the only assets they have are Birmingham City Football Club.

"If you run out of money and you need some - you realise your assets. They almost 100% own Birmingham City, so I believe now the club should be up for sale. [Former owner] Carson Yeung really can't stop this."

  19. Get involved: The Wayne Rooney debatepublished at 13:48 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

Gary Lineker, Roy Hodgson, Kevin Kilbane and Phil Neville

It's fair to say, on the strength of the texts, tweets and Facebook posts we've had on this, that opinion is split roughly half and half over Wayne Rooney's alleged dive. Even the BBC Match of the Day pundits couldn't agree during last night's live coverage of Manchester United's 3-1 win at Preston.

"It's a rash challenge, but there's no contact," said former Preston full-back and winger Kevin Kilbane. "It's a dive."

"When the keeper's flying out like that, Wayne Rooney has to get out of the way," said former Manchester United midfielder Phil Neville. "If he's left his leg there, it would have been a leg breaker."

So who's right? You can watch the video of the incident - plus the analysis - on the BBC Sport website.

  20. Get involved: The Wayne Rooney debatepublished at 13:41 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February 2015

Let's catch up on the debate over Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney's alleged dive against Preston in last night's FA Cup fifth-round tie at Deepdale.

Alastair Temple:, external People seem to be saying one or the other, is there not space for both a penalty and a dive?

James Hunter:, external The goalkeeper clearly made an attempt to trip Rooney. Whether there was contact is irrelevant. Had to be a penalty.

Ohigho Musa:, external Was there any contact? NO! If it was a non English player the reaction would've been different. No beating around the bush.
