There are suggestions Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney dived to win the penalty for his side's third goal in the 3-1 FA Cup win over Preston.

The England striker went down in the box after a challenge from Preston goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann appeared to make little or no contact.

"I am not saying it wasn't a penalty. I'm saying there was no contact," said Preston boss Simon Grayson.

"It wasn't a dive. He's gone to get out of the way and taken evasive action."

Manchester United had to come from a goal down to overcome Preston 3-1 in the FA Cup fifth round tie at Deepdale.

Scott Laird had given the home side the lead before United replied with goals from Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini and a Wayne Rooney penalty.

The Old Trafford side will now host Arsenal in a mouth-watering quarter-final tie in the next round.
