    Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is known for giving prickly answers to the media - and today has been no exception.

    It is fair to say the Dutchman is not happy with suggestions that he does not see eye-to-eye, external with assistant boss Ryan Giggs.

    Van Gaal playfully grabbed Giggs' cheek in the immediate aftermath of Ashley Young's late winner at Newcastle last night - but the Welshman looked less than impressed.

    "I am very irritated at this question because everyone can see we have a very good relationship," says Van Gaal.

    "We work very hard together. Not only with Ryan but with all the staff and the players. It is a way of suggesting things. I am very irritated. I take my measures against the media. I am not pleased."

    Former Australia and Gloucestershire all-rounder Ian Harvey has been named as the county's assistant head coach.

    Harvey, who also played for Derbyshire, Northants, Hampshire and Yorkshire, won six limited-overs trophies with Glos.

    He played 73 one-day internationals for Australia, scoring 715 runs at an average of 17.87 and taking 85 wickets.

    "It's a really exciting time," he told the club website. "Over the next few seasons we've got the opportunity to be pushing for trophies and promotion."

    Commonwealth gold medallists Chris and Gabby Adcock are through to the quarter-finals of the All England Badminton Championships in Birmingham.

    The married couple beat Indonesian duo Kevin Sukamuljo and Greysia Polii 21-12, 21-18 earlier this afternoon.

    They will now face defending champions and former world champions Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir - also from Indonesia - in Friday's quarter-finals.

    No British players have won the event dubbed 'the Wimbledon of the badminton world' since Athens silver medallists Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms took the title in 2005.

    Former Leeds United president Massimo Cellino is banned from returning to the Championship club until the end of the current season.

    The Italian businessman, 58, was disqualified by the Football League in January from running the Yorkshire club until 10 April.

    Now that has been extended after Cellino decided not to contest a misconduct charge by the Football League after failing to provide court documents relating to his tax conviction last year.

    "The club and Mr Cellino have decided in the interests of the club, its players and supporters not to contest this charge," says a joint statement released by Leeds and the Football League.

    More from Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal, who has been facing the media ahead of his side's clash with Arsenal in the FA Cup on Monday.

    Van Gaal has been talking about the spitting incident involving Jonny Evans and Papiss Cisse in last night's match against Newcastle.

    He says: "It is like I said after the match. He was not aware he was spitting. When he was spitting on the ground it was something natural from a human being I think.

    "It was not his intention - as I said already - I cannot imagine Jonny Evans could do that. He has said that also. I believe him. For me the matter is done."

    Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane must appear in court over an alleged road-rage row with a taxi driver.

    Keane, 43, has been summonsed to go before Trafford Magistrates' Court after police received a report he had behaved aggressively in the incident in January.

    It is alleged the ex-Republic of Ireland international had a row with cabbie Fateh Kerar, 44, near traffic lights on Ashley Road in Altrincham on 30 January.

    Nottingham Forest announce they recorded a £22.9m loss last season, an increase of almost £6m on the previous year.

    Forest's failure to meet the Financial Fair Play regulations of losing no more than £8m during the 2013-14 campaign resulted in the club being placed under a transfer embargo in December.

    The embargo could be lifted in June, but only if the Reds comply with FFP rules - they will need to prove they have stayed within an operating loss of no more than £3m, with a maximum of £3m of shareholder investment for the 2014-15 season.

    Earlier we told you that former Aston Villa skipper Stiliyan Petrov is returning to the club as part of Tim Sherwood's backroom staff.

    The 35-year-old Bulgarian played for Villa from 2006 to 2012, when he was diagnosed with acute leukaemia. Petrov is in remission but he was forced to retire in May 2013.

    "I don't want him to be a mascot here," Sherwood says. "I want him to contribute and he certainly can contribute.

    "He knows the boys and he's well respected among the group. I think it's important to have as many people who know the fabric of the football club here. He's well and he's raring to go.

    Bolton Wanderers have confirmed the injuries suffered by defender Kevin McNaughton and in-form striker Zach Clough (pictured) in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Reading will keep them out for the rest of the season.

    Teenager Clough dislocated his shoulder, while McNaughton suffered a fractured fibula in his right leg.

    In addition, centre-back David Wheater will miss the next eight weeks with a hamstring injury.

    The former president of Spanish football club Osasuna has been arrested following an investigation into the disappearance of at least 2.4m euros (£1.74m) from the club's accounts.

    Wycombe's appeal against the red card shown to Matt McClure, just 70 seconds after he came on as a substitute against Tranmere, has been rejected.

    The 23-year-old was sent off for leading with an elbow in an aerial challenge after being sent on in the 67th minute of Tuesday's game.

    He will now serve a three-match suspension.
