  1. Murray hammers 'cheat'published at 09:15 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

After completing victory at Indian Wells, Andy Murray then gave an interview to the BBC during which he was very outspoken about fellow player Wayne Odesnik, who has been banned for 15-years after being caught doping.

The 29-year-old American tested positive for several banned substances, including steroids, in December and January.

"It is good for tennis that they got him off tour. It is the end of his career and he can't even come on site to events or coach. That is a good thing," said Murray, who also tweeted 'bye bye Wayne ... good riddance'.

"He is a cheat and it is good for everyone in tennis he is dealt with in the right way."

    Powerful stuff. Full story here.

We asked for heroic sporting displays, here's what you're telling us.

Andrew: Scotland winning 1-0 at France. McFadden scoring that goal. Me and my dad cheered so loud nearly gave my mum a heart attack.

Rodgers Omond: My hero is without a doubt David de Gea. Has miraculously kept Man United in the race for top four.

Lewis: Wales heroic defensive display against Ireland last week, a masterclass. The stadium erupted with support when Wales survived.

  3. Murray beats Mannarino ... and Henmanpublished at 09:10 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

Away from the football, Andy Murray equalled Tim Henman's Open-era record for career wins by a British man as he advanced to the quarter-finals at Indian Wells.

Murray beat unseeded Frenchman Adrian Mannarino 6-3 6-3 in what was the first meeting between the pair.

The Scot will play Spaniard Feliciano Lopez in the last eight.

Murray said he "wasn't aware" he had equalled Henman's record of 496 career wins, joking: "It's probably one of the few records Tim still had over me."

  5. More hell for Pellpublished at 08:57 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

There is no doubting that Manuel Pellegrini is under all sorts of pressure following Man City's defeat in Barcelona.

There's only one outcome according to BBC footie pundit Robbie Savage, who believes the Blues boss will be sacked at the end of the season after his side's Champions League exit.

"I think Pellegrini's time will be up," said Savage. "Would Diego Simeone leave Atletico Madrid or Carlo Ancelotti leave Real Madrid? That's the kind of manager I would look at for City."

Joe Hart though has defended his manager.

In tribute to Mr Joe Hart, whose hands must still be stinging this morning, we want you to give us your nominations for most heroic sporting displays.

It could be a football team, player, tennis star, F1 driver, your mate's performance for the local pub team ... whatever, get in touch and let us know.

I'll kick it off. Bury's 3-2 win at Chester in September, 1984. What a display, like Brazil at their peak, and I still remember Craig Madden's diving header like it was yesterday - left-wing cross, diving full length, bang, top corner. I've goosebumps just thinking about it...

Anyway, enough of that - over to you.

  10. India rack up big scorepublished at 08:38 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

India v Bangladesh is well under way at the Cricket World Cup in Melbourne.

India won the toss, decided to bat first in the quarter-final, and it seems a good decision.

They scored 302 for 6 off their 50 overs, an innings that included a fine knock from opener Rohit Sharma, who smashed 137 from 126 balls.

It means Bangladesh have a big task on their hands, but they've started in solid fashion - 20-0 from four over, with Tamim Iqbal on a run-a-ball 17.

  12. 'Hart phenomenal' - Messipublished at 08:31 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

No matter how much defeat hurts for Man City fans, at least they can take comfort from having a goalkeeper who is making headlines all over the world today.

Even Lionel Messi called Joe Hart a "phenomenon" after the keeper's wondrous display at the Nou Camp.

"He saved everything," said Messi. "We had a lot of clear chances but the keeper had a brilliant game. We can only congratulate him."

Hart made 10 saves, the most in a single Champions League match this season.

Now all that's out of the way, let's take a look at what's happened overnight in the sporting world, starting with Manchester City's exit from the Champions league.

Joe Hart might have been sensational ("the best goalkeeping performance ever ... for nothing", said Robbie Savage on Radio 5 live), but Lionel Messi and co were even better as Barceclona - penalty-scare aside - sauntered into the quarter-finals.

"City have now failed to reach the quarter-finals in each of their four Champions League campaigns," read the BBC's match report. "As the best paid team in world sport, according to a recent study , it seems like a poor return on that investment."
