England's players will be keeping a close eye on the television before the Six Nations decider against France, says wing Jack Nowell.

Title rivals Wales and Ireland play earlier on Saturday, against Italy and Scotland respectively, leaving England fully aware of what they have to do against the French at Twickenham.

"It is going to be an important weekend, we have to focus on getting the win first and then go from there," Nowell tells Sky Sports News. "We will sit down half an hour before kick off and see what is happening.

"We are creating chances out there, making line breaks and the big thing this week is finishing them off."

  6. Injury break helped Nowellpublished at 13:50 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

England wing Jack Nowell believes missing last summer's tour to New Zealand to have knee surgery has been one of the key reasons behind his sparkling Six Nations form.

Nowell, who has gained more metres than any other Red Rose player, will start Saturday's crunch Six Nations clash against France at Twickenham.

"I needed the time off to focus on the injury - and I'm feeling a lot more confident this year," the Exeter Chief man tells Sky Sports News.

  10. John Carver news conferencepublished at 13:30 Greenwich Mean Time 19 March 2015

Quite a downbeat news conference going on at Newcastle, though given the club has only two wins in its last 11 outings, that's hardly surprising.

"We are a small group and it's a difficult time but the only way you get through it is by sticking together and smiling," says Carver.

Asked about Arsenal and the threat the Gunners pose, he adds: "They are a good footballing side who like to play, so we have to be patient. But we have one or two things up our sleeve."

"I've had big challenges in the past and this is one of the biggest. It's my job to prepare the team to bounce back from Everton," says Carver, whose team were easily beaten, 3-0, at Goodison Park last weekend.

Asked if he may play a few youngsters against Arsenal, given the injury problems, the manager replies: "Saturday is not the environment for young lads, especially against an in-form Arsenal side. It's not the right time for them."

Judging by his first comments, picking a team for Saturday's match with Arsenal could be tricky.

"I only have 13 fit senior players, plus two goalkeepers, for the game," says Carver, possibly not words Newcastle fans were hoping to hear.
