Adam Peaty may have produced the shock result by claiming 200m breaststroke gold at the British Championships on Tuesday night, but it's the dismal form of Olympic silver medallist Michael Jamieson which most in the swimming world are discussing today.

Athens bronze medallist and BBC 5 Live pundit Steve Parry tells me he thinks the swimmer needs to be "less self critical" if he is to return to the British team, let alone get back to the top of the sport.

  2. Kosovo gets IAAF recognitionpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 15 April 2015

Kosovo has been recognised as a provisional member of the International Association of Athletics Federations.

The decision follows a similar verdict from the International Olympic Committee in October and it means Kosovo becomes the 214th member of the IAAF.

A statement from the governing body read: "The IAAF has received and reviewed an application for IAAF membership from the Kosovo Athletic Federation. The application was judged to meet the requirements, as set out in article 4.3 of the constitution, and provisional IAAF membership was granted."

The 25-year-old has been an ever-present for the Eagles this season, playing every minute in the Premier League.

"It's been something that has been talked about a little bit and I'm glad to now put that to the back and just concentrate with my football and I'm delighted to have signed the deal," he told the club website., external

  4. Klopp to leave Dortmundpublished at 13:49 British Summer Time 15 April 2015

Haider Munir: United should begin a raid of Dortmund players this summer. Piszczek, Reus, Hummels and possibly Gundogan.

Josh Horsman: The city hierarchy has previously had a successor lined up before sacking the manager. Klopp's announcement is no coincidence .

Christopher Wills: Surely Herr Klopp is coming to the Hammers. Hopefully this dream won't fade and die and fortune finally shows itself.

Trainer Philip Hobbs says Balthazar King, the Grand National runner who took a heavy fall at the Canal Turn during Saturday's Aintree feature, is making "slow but steady progress" as he recovers from his injuries.

The field had to bypass the fence on the second circuit as the 11-year-old, who suffered broken ribs, was being treated.

  6. Glos openers start well against Northantspublished at 13:38 British Summer Time 15 April 2015

BBC Radio Gloucestershire's Bob Hunt at Wantage Road: "It was almost the perfect morning for Gloucestershire as they set off in an unlikely pursuit of the 419 needed in the day to produce an historic victory, but the dismissal of Will Tavare for 66 close to lunch has dented their chances.

"Tavare and Chris Dent (65 not out) put on 137 for the first wicket before the former was bowled by Azharullah.

"Northants had bowled loosely up until then; but, as often happens, a change of ball meant a change of fortune and they will be hoping for further inroads early in the afternoon, with Gloucestershire still needing 310 from 56 overs."

  7. Nadal goes through in Monte Carlopublished at 13:30 British Summer Time 15 April 2015

World number five Rafael Nadal has started his build-up to the French Open in style after he eased into the third round of the Monte Carlo Masters.

  8. Cricketpublished at 13:27 British Summer Time 15 April 2015

BBC London 94.9's Kevin Hand: "Middlesex's only wicket to fall this morning came in the final over before lunch as the hosts gave themselves a great chance of saving the game against Nottinghamshire.

"Nick Gubbins was the man to go caught at short leg off Samit Patel but his partnership of 132 for the second wicket with Nick Compton (63*) has kept Notts at bay and laid the foundation for the middle order to bat the day out.

"A second new ball will be available in the afternoon but the pitch has played well today and showed little sign of the indifferent bounce glimpsed on the previous three days."

  9. Wallace reaches Glamorgan landmarkpublished at 13:21 British Summer Time 15 April 2015

BBC Radio Wales' Nick Webb at Grace Road:

"Glamorgan reached 155-5 at lunch on the final day, a lead of 233 runs over Leicestershire, with a draw looking the most likely result in their Championship opener.

"Mark Wallace reached his landmark of 10,000 first-class runs, the first Glamorgan specialist wicketkeeper to do so, but his dismissal for eight left Leicestershire in with a chance of forcing a run-chase.

"Chris Cooke rescued them as he reached 69 not out, dominating a half-century partnership with Graham Wagg, and Leicestershire's hopes of breaking their two-year barren stretch without a four-day win were not helped by losing paceman Atif Sheikh with shoulder trouble after bowling only seven deliveries."

  10. Sussex wrap up victory over Hantspublished at 13:15 British Summer Time 15 April 2015

Sussex have begun their County Championship campaign with a 92-run win over Hampshire at the Ageas Bowl.

The home side, promoted from Division Two last summer, were bowled out for 285 just before lunch, having been set a victory target of 378.

Pace bowler Ajmal Shahzad was the most successful bowler for the three-times champions, taking 3-63.
