    Following his victory at the Chinese Grand Prix last weekend, Lewis Hamilton described himself as "mentally stronger" than Nico Rosberg, his Mercedes team-mate who finished second.

    Rosberg said he felt Hamilton was driving unnecessarily slowly, backing him up into the chasing Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel.

    Today head of Mercedes motorsport Toto Wolff has had this to say: "We saw tensions between Nico and Lewis in the race and we tackled them directly on Sunday night to stop anything carrying over to this weekend.

    "When you have intense competition, it's normal that it causes emotions to run high - and that's not something we want to change.

    "China also confirmed that Ferrari will be a threat in all conditions this year, not just when it's very hot. We will have new challenges to face as a team, with another competitor who is much closer to our level of performance."

    Earlier we heard from Ricky Hatton on how Amir Khan could beat Floyd Mayweather - in fact he said the American would "run a mile" from the Bolton-born fighter (see 11:10).

    But now Mayweather says he will fight just once more after next month's clash with Manny Pacquiao, because he no longer enjoys the sport.

    The unbeaten American's 2 May fight with Pacquiao is the fifth of a six-fight contract with broadcaster Showtime.

    And Mayweather, 38, says the "fun" has gone out of boxing, which he now regards as "a job".

    He added: "I don't enjoy it like I once did. My last fight is in September."

    More on the news Jurgen Klopp is expected to announce he will step down as manager of Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season in a press conference today.

    Writing in the Guardian, German football writer Raphael Honigstein says Klopp's agents have "already received several inquiries for his services"., external

    It's being reported that Klopp will take a year's break from football, and that former Mainz manager Thomas Tuchel has been lined up to take over.

    Saracens lock George Kruis has signed a long-term deal to remain at the club.

    "We've have a great off the field ethos at Saracens, the club are very interested in player welfare and on the pitch we're in a great position in the league and in Europe," said the 25-year-old England international.

    "It was a no brainer for me to extend my deal. You always want to get these things off your mind as soon as possible it's been relatively pain free for me. I'm delighted to commit my future to Saracens."

    Borussia Dortmund are holding a press conference at 12:30 BST this afternoon where it's expected Jurgen Klopp will announce he will step down at the end of the season and begin a year's break from football.

    Maddy Raman: Football will miss him but Klopp will come back from a year off refreshed and hopefully walk into a top job in England.

    Rory: Klopp might have a short break if Manchester City come knocking. He'd clear out the average players and probably bring Marco Reus with him!

    BBC Wales Sport's Gareth Roberts reports that Wales' England-based players will not be allowed to attend their initial pre-World Cup training camps.

    Gloucester's Richard Hibbard and Bath-bound Rhys Priestland are unavailable until the day before Wales' first warm-up against Ireland on 8 August - 35 days before the tournament starts.

    Aviva Premiership clubs are sticking by their stance, saying: "Our policy is to release players within the rules."

    Here's the latest on the news Jurgen Klopp is set to step down as manager of Borussia Dortmund.

    German tabloid Bild say that Klopp has himself asked for his contract, due to run until 2018, to be dissolved at the end of the season and will most likely take a year out.

    Klopp, 47, led Dortmund to two Bundesliga titles and a German Cup, also reaching the Champions League final in 2013.

    But this season his side have struggled and have only recently steered clear of the relegation zone into 10th.

    Sussex have signed former Australia T20 captain George Bailey for the second half of the T20 Blast campaign.

    The 32-year-old top-order batsman will be available the final seven games of the tournament and will also be eligible to play in the One-Day Cup.

    Tasmanian-born Bailey has played five Tests, 28 T20Is and 57 one-day international matches for Australia.

    "He brings leadership, experience and is a proven one-day player," cricket manager Mark Robinson told BBC Sussex.

    Former two-weight world champion Ricky Hatton believes British compatriot Amir Khan could be the man to dethrone Floyd Mayweather as boxing's pound-for-pound king.

    Khan has been seeking a fight with Mayweather for almost two years, but the American WBC and WBA welterweight champion has spurned Khan's advances.

    That's no surprise to Hatton, who believes Khan's blurring punches and rapid movement would hand Mayweather his first professional defeat.

    "Amir is boxing with a lot more discipline lately, he's in and out and he's not getting involved. I think that type of style will cause Floyd massive problems. I think Floyd would run a mile.

    "Amir's as big a name as is out there, he's beaten pretty much everyone, and Mayweather might be forced to fight him."

    A bit more on the news Jurgen Klopp is set to leave his role as manager of Borussia Dortmund, after asking to be released from his contract.

    German tabloid Bild is reporting Thomas Tuchel, the former Mainz manager, is the most likely candidate to take over, and that Klopp has asked to leave because of Dortmund's "incredibly disastrous" season.

    The Bundesliga club are 10th in the table, 37 points behind leaders Bayern Munich, but spent much of the campaign in the relegation zone.

    Today is the 26th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, when 96 Liverpool fans lost their lives at the start of an FA Cup semi-final, following a crush on the steel-fenced terraces of Sheffield Wednesday's stadium in 1989.

    To mark the occasion, the Liverpool website has put together a photo compilation, external which "powerfully expresses how and why the 96 fans who lost their lives will never be forgotten".

    There could be some fairly seismic European football news to bring you later today, with German newspaper Bild reporting that Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp will step down from his role at the club, external and take a break from football.

    Klopp has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past, but his struggling Borussia side are 10th in the Bundesliga, having spent much of the season in last place.
