The Everton boss has remained non-committal about the futures of on-loan midfielder Aaron Lennon and defenders Sylvain Distin and Antolin Alcaraz, who are both out of contract this summer.

He said: "We have a really strong squad in terms of numbers. There will be opportunities to show what they can do in the next six games."

    Jack WilshereImage source, PA

Wilshere, 23, has had two operations on his left ankle, which he injured against Manchester United in November.

He is back in the Arsenal squad this weekend. But will he play? You know Arsene Wenger won't be giving his XI out today.

Gunners fans will be happy to see Wilshere return though.

  5. Roberto Martinez press conferencepublished at 09:22 British Summer Time 16 April 2015

Everton boss Roberto Martinez is now facing the media and says striker Romelu Lukaku should be fit to face Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday (15:00 BST kick-off).

The Belgian has missed the club's last two matches with a hamstring problem.

"Rom has had two very good days with the group. We expect him to do the same again. If there are no problems, he will play," said Martinez.

Midfielder Leon Osman could also feature as he recovers from a groin injury.

Arsene Wenger has emerged. First up it's a bit of team news and confirmation that Mikel Arteta and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are the only absentees from the squad to face Reading in the FA Cup semi-finals this weekend.

Arsenal have a "big squad" to choose from, he says. So Jack Wilshere is fit.

  7. Is football failing black managers?published at 09:12 British Summer Time 16 April 2015

A recent study claimed that 552 key coaching jobs in English football were occupied by just 19 people from black and ethnic backgrounds.

John Barnes says black managers don't get many second chances, while Viv Anderson, another former England international, thinks he will be dead before a black man is made boss of the England men's team.

BBC Sport's Simon Stone spoke to three aspiring coaches, all enrolled on the FA's Coach bursary programme aimed at boosting the number of black and ethnic coaches in the game, to learn about their hopes and ambitions.

"The draw for the event takes place today at 10:30 BST, with defending champion Mark Selby seeded number one for the competition.

"All the chat is about whether he can break the 'Curse of the Crucible' as no first-time winner has ever defended his crown the following year.

  11. Terry should be playing for England - Capellopublished at 08:53 British Summer Time 16 April 2015

Chelsea captain John Terry should still be playing for England, according to former national boss Fabio Capello.

Capello resigned in February 2012 after Terry was stripped of the captaincy by the Football Association over allegations of racial abuse following an incident with QPR's Anton Ferdinand.

Terry, 34, was acquitted after a trial in July 2012 but was banned for four games and fined £220,000 by the FA.

"It's better to have a player like John Terry than not," said Capello.

"England haven't got a lot of defenders but they sometimes have problems. He is one of the best."

With three weeks to go before election day, this morning we're asking you: Which sporting figures would make it into your cabinet?

Matt Oswin: Roy Keane would be my chief whip.

Ricardo Sieman: Let's face it, you wouldn't want Kevin Keegan as defence secretary...

Peter Malath: David Beckham would be the foreign secretary. He already did that anyways.

    Pep GuardiolaImage source, Getty Images

Wednesday night wasn't a good one for Pep Guardiola, whose Bayern Munich side lost 3-1 to Porto in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer was in shocking form, conceding a penalty before uncharacteristically folding in a one-on-one with Ricardo Quaresma, as the Portuguese side took a first-leg advantage.

"There's still another leg. We're a bit upset but we have six days to analyse it," Guardiola said.

It's three weeks until General Election day, and although this isn't the place for political discussion (as I'd get in trouble), we'd like to have fun with it.

So we're asking: Which figures from the world of sport would make it into your cabinet?

Who'd be your prime minister? Who'd head the Treasury? And who'd be your foreign secretary, negotiating with other nations? Surely Roy Hodgson's a decent shout?

Barcelona have one foot in the semi-finals then, but for PSG the spell is broken.

At least the Champions League spell is. Laurent Blanc's side are still chasing a successive league title, have already won the League Cup and play Auxerre in the final of the French Cup on 30 May.

But you'd expect there will be plenty of furrowed brows behind the scenes this morning, given the amount of cash that has been invested in establishing the club among the European elite. Last night, they fell short against the old money.
