Now then, apart from the fear of bunkers, what one thing would get you playing more golf.

That was the question posed by the R&A to more than 50,00 golfers around the world in a pace of play survey.

It revealed that while 70% of golfers are largely happy with the duration of their rounds, 60% of golfers would enjoy golf more if they played in less time.

In fact, among the 25-44 year-old age bracket, 21% said that golf would need to take as much as one-and-a-half hours less for them to play more often.

  4. Rain interrupts play at Tauntonpublished at 15:56 British Summer Time 27 April 2015

BBC London 94.9's Kevin Hand at Taunton:

    Somerset 408, Middlesex 196-2

"An early tea was taken at Taunton as rain stopped play with Middlesex 194-2.

"Opener Nick Gubbins is still going strong on 90 while the key wicket, and visiting captain Adam Voges, has 65.

"The ball has not passed the bat as often today as it did even through Somerset's record partnership against Middlesex but the hosts will still hope to replicate the collapse that saw such a swift end to their innings."

The rain is only light and should clear for an extended evening session.

And another slightly odd story emanating from Italy ... AC Milan's players have been told they have to stay at their training ground indefinitely following Saturday's 2-1 Serie A loss at Udinese.

Players slept at the Milanello after the game and although they were allowed home after an extra training session on Sunday, they had to be back for dinner.

The club said the 'ritiro' - confining players to headquarters - could last until the end of the season.

"The attitude during the game was wrong," explained coach Filippo Inzaghi. "There are very few excuses and the only thing to do now is to roll up our sleeves and do well in the last six matches, because we're Milan and our dignity is involved."

AC Milan, who are reportedly in takeover talks, are 10th in the Serie A table and set to miss out on European qualification.

Allegri said: "In Italy we are still behind. Until the responsible parties take measures this is how it will be. We need to improve to bring people back to the stadium and kids first of all, given that only a madman would bring them along."
