    Middlesbrough captain Grant Leadbitter says they must forget Wembley and focus on winning Friday's Championship play-off semi-final second-leg against Brentford.

    Boro were relegated from the Premier League in 2009, but with a 2-1 first-leg lead over the Bees they are closer than ever before to a top-flight return.

    "We as players can't get soaked up in that. We must look forward to and prepare for Friday, we don't want it to be our last [game this season]" he told BBC Tees.

    Sussex Twenty20 captain Luke Wright is happy for the side to take risks in the T20 Blast as the Hove side look to rediscover their one-day form.

    The 2009 champions have failed to progress from the group stage in the past two years.

    "I really want people to play with freedom and have a good go at it," the 30-year-old told BBC Sussex.

    "I'd rather us take risks than go any other way and that is the message I am trying to give to all the batters."

    Brentford defender James Tarkowski says they must be clinical at Middlesbrough on Friday if they are to progress to the Championship play-off final.

    The Bees, who scored 10 more regular season goals than their opponents, travel to Teesside having lost the first leg of their semi-final tie 2-1 at Griffin Park last week.

    "We know we are good enough to go up there and beat them," the 22-year-old told BBC London 94.9. "We have plenty of goals in the team - it is just making sure we take our chances when we get them."

    Partick Thistle's Steven Lawless will face a Scottish FA gambling charge at a hearing on Thursday, 21 May.

    The 24-year-old midfielder is accused of betting on 513 matches between December 2012 and March 2015.

    The SFA notice of complaint stresses there is no evidence of Lawless betting on games involving his own team.

    Hereford FC, the club created following the collapse of Hereford United in December 2014, have been accepted into the ninth tier of English football.

    Hereford United were playing in football's seventh tier when they were wound up with debts of £148,000.

    The new team have now been handed a spot in the Midland Football League for the 2015/16 season.

    Salisbury FC, who formed after the demise of Salisbury City last summer, will play in the ninth-tier Wessex League Premier Division.

    Race leader Alberto Contador was caught up in a crash as German Andre Greipel won stage six of the Giro d'Italia.

    Spaniard Contador, 32, retained the race lead from Astana's Fabio Aru by two seconds, with Team Sky's Richie Porte 20 seconds back.

    But the Tinkoff-Saxo rider did not wear the pink jersey on the podium after suffering an arm injury and will undergo X-rays to assess the severity.

    Plymouth must overturn a one-goal deficit at Wycombe on Thursday, although their late fight back to only lose 3-2 on Saturday has given them some hope of reaching the final.

    Goalkeeper Petr Cech is considering leaving Chelsea in the summer because he does not want to be second choice to Thibaut Courtois for another season.

    A source close to the player confirmed to BBC Sport that the 32-year-old - who has been with the Blues since 2004 - wants first-team football having made only 14 appearances this season.

    "It works with Thibaut. But I think it can work for only one season," Cech told Czech paper Idnes on Tuesday.

    "I don't want another season of this."

    Edinburgh head coach Alan Solomons has signed a 12-month extension to his contract, keeping the South African at the club until June 2016.

    Under the 64-year-old, Edinburgh became the first Scottish team to reach a European Challenge Cup final, where they lost to Gloucester.

    However, the club have failed to achieve their target of a top-six finish in the Pro12, sitting eighth in the table.

    Striker Declan McManus has rejected the offer of a new contract at Aberdeen and joins six senior players who are leaving Pittodrie without new deals.

    McManus was voted named League One player of the year after scoring 23 goals on loan at Greenock Morton.

    Defenders Joe Shaughnessy, Clark Robertson and Craig Murray, plus midfielders Kieran Gibbons, Jamie Masson and Andrew Driver are also leaving.

    England and Nottinghamshire batsman Alex Hales is in talks with Indian Premier League side Mumbai Indians about a short-term contract.

    The 26-year-old was not picked during the IPL auction in February but has a clause in his Notts contract allowing him to play in the IPL, and could join the Indians in time for the final match of the regular season on 17 May and any knockout matches should Mumbai progress.

    Hales has scored 532 County Championship runs for Notts this season, at an average of 66.50.

    The Premier League champions have announced they have agreed a deal with Atletico Paranaense for Brazilian teenager Nathan., external

    The 19-year-old attacking midfielder, full name Nathan Allan de Souza, will join the Blues on 1 July.

    Nathan said: 'I am very happy to be joining Chelsea and I hope I will be able to learn a lot and develop my game.'

    He has represented Brazil at youth level and scored five goals in five games at the Under-17 World Cup in 2013.

    Sunderland midfielder Seb Larsson says they can "handle the pressure" of staying in the Premier League.

    The Black Cats won their past two games against Southampton and Everton to lift themselves out of the relegation zone with three games to go.

    However fellow battlers Leicester at home are up next before trips to Arsenal and champions Chelsea.

    "We're up for the fight," Larsson told BBC Newcastle. "The game can't be much bigger than what they've been over the last two. We weren't expected to get much but we got six points from those games."

    But planned bank holiday engineering work means there will be no trains from Swindon to London while services from Preston will be disrupted by work on the West Coast line operated by Virgin Trains.

    Shaun Barker has missed three entire campaigns after suffering an injury against Nottingham Forest

    Ex-Derby County captain Shaun Barker says it is "frustrating" to have been released by the club but is confident he can still play in the Championship.

    The 32-year-old defender has not played a first-team game in over three years after dislocating his knee and rupturing ligaments in March 2012.

    "I feel I can do it in this division," Barker told BBC East Midlands Today.

    "It's an exciting time. There will be big changes and I am looking forward to playing first-team football next season."

    Brian O'Driscoll will be the face of Ireland's bid to host the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

    The former Ireland captain and world's most capped player has been named as bid ambassador, which will see him undertake a largely lobbying role.

    France, Italy and South Africa are also in the running to stage the tournament and countries have until the middle of next month to express an interest.

    Sean Dyche has been discussing his future as Burnley manager following their relegation back to the Championship.

    Dyche told the media before Saturday's game with Stoke: "My story is not bigger than the club's.

    "I am the manager and a custodian of the football club and it will move forward and I will move forward with it.

    "We are planning in the summer and beyond that into next season."
