    We have a bit of an update on the state of Zimbabwe's tour of Pakistan.

    Zimbabwe Cricket spokesman Lovemore Banda has said: "At this time the tour has not been suspended. The executive and board of Zimbabwe Cricket are still in discussions,"

    Zimbabwe are due to be the first test-playing nation to tour Pakistan since a 2009 gun attack on Sri Lanka's team bus in Lahore.

    Newly returned Leeds United chairman Massimo Cellino says he will take his time before deciding whether to retain Neil Redfearn as head coach.

    Cellino returned to the club last week after his Football League ban for being found guilty of tax evasion ended.

    And in a news conference where he took a 10-minute break to smoke, he said: "Is Neil the best coach for the club next season? I am asking myself this everyday.

    "People say to me that this is a sleeping giant. I think it is awake but it not fit yet. Once it is fit it can go back to where it belongs."

    There are conflicting reports regarding Zimbabwe's tour of Pakistan.

    Reuters are reporting that the decision to abandon the tour has been put on hold by the Zimbabwe Cricket Board.

    Earlier there had been an announcement that the Zimbabwe had pulled out of the tour following the advice of the country's sports regulatory body.

    The team are due to arrive on 19 May to play two T20 games and three one-day internationals.

    Great Britain men's hockey team have drawn the first of a two-test series against Argentina at Bisham Abbey.

    Ashley Jackson's late penalty corner rescued a draw for Bobby Crutchley's side after a Lucas Vila strike gave the visitors the lead.

    The second test takes places on Friday at 11:00 BST.

    Aston Villa have been fined £200,000 after admitting spectator misconduct in relation to their FA Cup, external sixth round tie against West Bromwich Albion on 7 March.

    The charges related to a pitch invasion at Villa Park following the home side's 2-0 win.

    The Premier League club have also received a severe warning from the Football Association.

    Villa have since progressed to the FA Cup final at Wembley and play Arsenal on 30 May.

    Former Burnley defender Clarke Carlisle has been banned from driving for three years after he admitted drinking and driving.

    The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to failing to provide a sample to police on 20 December.

    He also admitted driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.

    Carlisle was also ordered to carry out 150 hours' unpaid work and must pay £145 in costs and charges.

    Zimbabwe have pulled out of their planned tour of Pakistan following the advice of the country's sports regulatory body.

    James Ward-Prowse will return to the Southampton side for the visit of the Aston Villa following suspension.

    Manager Ronald Koeman also confirmed the rest of the squad will be the same as last weekend's trip defeat by Leicester City.

    Koeman added that he is hopeful Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez may be in line to feature at Manchester City on the final day of the season.

    "Morgan is back in training, not with the group but he was on the pitch. He's still out but maybe next week, we have to wait," said the Dutchman.

    "Jay is close. He's doing all the exercises with the team this week. If we can put him on the bench in the last game it will be a great achievement for Jay for what he did in coming back."

    Ireland's Padraig Harrington has just dropped a shot at the turn on round one at Quail Hollow as a strong field lines up for the PGA Tour's Wells Fargo Championship.

    The 43-year-old, already a winner on Tour this season, is one under through nine holes, three shots adrift of American leader Robert Streb.

    Phil Mickelson is also one under having made a double-bogey on his ninth hole of the day. Rory McIlroy is set to tee off at 18:20 BST.

    Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club have confirmed batsman Alex Hales is in negotiations over a prospective short-term stint with IPL side the Mumbai Indians.

    The club said: "A deal has not yet been signed and Hales will be available for selection for the NatWest T20 Blast opener against Birmingham Bears tomorrow.

    "The terms of Hales' contract at Trent Bridge include the right to accept an offer from the IPL."

    Hales was not named in the England squad for the first test against New Zealand. The batsman has scored 532 in the County Championship this year with an average of 66.

    Golden Horn beat stablemate Jack Hobbs to win the Dante Stakes - giving trainer John Gosden a 1-2 at York.

    Elm Park, trained by Andrew Balding, came in third.

    England national selector James Whitaker has given his thought on the England squad announcement.

    On Adam Lyth: "He has waited patiently for an opportunity with England having performed consistently for Yorkshire and England Lions in the last year.

    "He fully deserves his chance to cement a place in the side at the top of the order."

    On Mark Wood: "Mark has also impressed and his pace and style of bowling ensure the coach and captain have options in the bowling attack. "

    On expectations for the series: "There were some positive signs during the recent Test tour and it is key that this group of players learns from the instances when the opposition was put under pressure and we were in a position to press for victory but couldn't quite manage it.

    "New Zealand are a very talented side and I expect a very competitive series between the two teams to start what will be an incredibly exciting summer of cricket."

    England have called up uncapped duo Adam Lyth and David Wood for the first test against New Zealand on 21 May at Lord's.

    Yorkshire batsman Lyth is set to open the batting alongside England captain Alastair Cook.

    The 27-year-old was selected on his first senior England tour last month but did not feature in the drawn three Test series against West Indies.

    Durham pace bowler Mark Wood, made his ODI debut against Ireland last week.

    The Football League, external have decided Blackpool's abandoned game with Huddersfield on the final day of the Championship season will be recorded as 0-0.

    The match at Bloomfield Road was abandoned after 48 minutes - without a goal being scored - following a pitch invasion by protesting home fans.

    Hundreds of supporters came on to the field, forcing referee Mick Russell to take the players off the pitch and eventually call the game off.

    The Football League have also charged Blackpool with failing to fulfil a fixture and the matter will be heard by a Football Disciplinary Commission in due course.

    England have announced their squad to play New Zealand in the first test starting on 21 May at Lord's.

    The midfielder is set to be out for between six to nine months with a knee injury.

    James was taken off on a stretcher during Saturday's 2-0 win over Southampton and scans have shown he has ruptured anterior ligaments.

    The 23-year-old will now miss the final two games in their Premier League relegation battle, where they sit three points above 18th.

    He had played in five of their six victories during their last seven matches, which have helped the club climb out of the Premier League relegation zone.

    Leicester manager Nigel Pearson has revealed midfielder Matty James will undergo surgery on Tuesday for a knee injury. Scans have confirmed he has a rupture of his anterior cruciate ligament.

    Pearson said: "Knee injuries are never nice to deal with. He's a very popular member of the squad and we wish him a speedy recovery."

    Elsewhere Andy King has returned to training.

    Williams test driver Susie Wolff tells The Clare Balding Show how she received a call from Sir Stirling Moss after he said women do not have the mental skills to race competitively in Formula 1.

    Former driver Moss, 85, told BBC Radio 5 live in April: "I think they have the strength, but I don't know if they've got the mental aptitude to race hard, wheel-to-wheel."

    The 32-year-old Scot says Moss told her: "I meant what I said, I just didn't mean you."

    Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has been speaking ahead of his side's trip to St Mary's in Saturday's lunchtime kick-off.

    On staying up: "We're confident. I'm glad we've got ourselves in a position where we have a chance of retaining our Premier League status.

    "The fans have been great since I came in. We needed them then and we're going to need them now. We're still fighting to stay in the division.

    "The concentration is on staying in the division and then trying to lift some silverware at the end of May. We'll then come back at the start of July and have a good pre-season.

    On playing Southampton: "It is a very important game. We need the points and we know it will be a very difficult game down there."
