Toni Minichiello, the coach of Jessica Ennis-Hill (pictured far left), has spoken of the financial and emotional impact that doping in athletics can have on clean athletes. Ennis-Hill finished second at the 2011 World Championships to Russia's Tatyana Chernova, who received a backdated two-year ban for doping this year.

"Having come second people are then critical of you but no one takes that criticism back three or four years later when it turns out the person who beat you was taking drugs," he added.

"The hope now is that at some point somebody will make a decision on it and hopefully the medals will be re-awarded."

Manager Martin O'Neill says Republic of Ireland will not sit on the away goal they scored in Bosnia when the sides meet on Monday night in the second leg of their Euro 2016 play-off.

A goalless draw would carry his side through after a 1-1 draw in the first leg.

"The tie is finely balanced and we have to go for the win," said O'Neill, 63.

"That has to be the mindset because Bosnia are more than capable of scoring. If we went out with any other mindset, things might not work out for us."

Bosnia will have Everton's Muhamed Besic back from suspension.

West Ham co-chairman David Gold has revealed former midfielder Kieron Dyer cost the club £16m in transfer fees and wages.

Gold was responding to a fan's question about how much West Ham 'wasted' on Dyer, who made just 30 league appearances in four injury-hit years at the club.

Not that Gold can expect a response from Dyer any time soon, with the ex-England international currently taking part in ITV's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.
