Asked about the signing of Udinese striker Adalberto Penaranda, the Watford manager said: "We had to move quickly with this player because he is playing very well in an important league in Spain.

"He is powerful, young and scores goals. The club moved really well to get him."

Penaranda, 18, will remain on loan at Granada.

Watford - 10th in the Premier League, five points off a Europa League place - also signed goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon, midfielder Mario Suarez and forward Nordin Amrabat during the transfer window.

Steve McNamara had been in charge of England since 2010.

His most recent contract expired at the end of last year, following the Test series against New Zealand.

“The RFL has concluded that with the 2016 Four Nations and 2017 World Cup on the horizon, now is the time to make any change to the England set up," said RFL Chief Executive Nigel Wood

“Steve McNamara has been the longest serving national coach in our history and it is undoubtedly the case that the national team and set up have moved on considerably under Steve’s leadership."

The Watford gaffer is asked about his deadline day business, starting with midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure, signed from Rennes.

"We've been following him," Flores said.

"We have been talking about him since last summer.

"He is a very good player for the future but at this moment we have a lot of players in the centre of midfield. He is for next year, at moment we keep with same players."

Just to underline that point, the Hornets immediately sent Doucoure to La Liga side Granada on loan.

Floyd Mayweather says he has had "crazy numbers" thrown at him to fight again.

But despite offers of "nine-figure" sums of money, Mayweather, who retired after his 49th successive victory last September, is not planning a comeback.

"As of right now, I am out completely," said the 38-year-old multiple world champion.

"If I do get the itch to come back, it really won't be for the money but I have to get paid. That's why the nickname is Floyd 'Money' Mayweather."

How did your club do in the transfer window?

James Astley: Wolves bought replacements for the sales of Stearman and Afobe, No improvements to squad, poor business.

Si Hawkes: As expected really. Another 'good but not a game changer' midfielder, and no striker. It's the Arsenal way. History repeats...

Andrew Neill: While impressed with the Shelvey signing and hopeful for Doumbia the lack of defensive reinforcements at NUFC worries me.
