The Dutch football association has confirmed for the first time that a match-fixer attempted to rig a game in the country's top flight league, the Eredivisie.

In a statement which has just been released to the media, it says its integrity unit established that Willem II Tilburg midfielder Ibrahim Kargbo organized with Singaporean match-fixer Wilson Raj Perumal for Willem II to lose to FC Utrecht on Aug. 9, 2009.

The association's operational director, Gijs de Jong, says that Dutch football, has "officially lost its innocence".

Paris St-Germain right-back Serge Aurier has been suspended indefinitely after appearing to use homophobic language to insult coach Laurent Blanc.

The Ivorian, 23, was also shown calling team-mate Angel di Maria a "clown" as he answered questions from fans on social media app Periscope.

PSG play Chelsea in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Aurier later apologised saying: "What I did was really stupid and inexcusable. I really regret what happened."

The Football Association has reacted to the storm over ticket prices by reducing the cost of attending the FA Cup final and semi-finals.

Following five pound cuts across the board, tickets for the 21 May Wembley showpiece will start at £45, excluding concessions, and semi-final tickets will begin at £30.

A statement from the FA read: "So far, this season's competition has seen attendances close to two million and £13m distributed to clubs across the football pyramid.

"The FA is in a good financial position and lowering the cost of these showpiece matches is in recognition of the strong, continued commitment from fans supporting the world's original cup competition."

The former head of Russia's anti-doping agency Rusada has died, the organisation says.

Nikita Kamaev's death comes two months after he resigned his post following a doping scandal in Russian athletics.

Rusada said the cause of death was "a massive heart attack".

Russia was suspended from international athletics last November. The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) accused Russian athletics of state-backed doping, corruption and extortion.

Juventus are top of Serie A after winning 15 successive games.

The latest victory came against previous leaders Napoli, Simone Zaza's late strike earning the points in a 1-0 win.

Napoli had looked set to maintain their two-point lead until substitute Zaza's deflected 18-yard shot flew past away keeper Pepe Reina.

Great Britain's Dylan Fletcher and Alain Sign have claimed a bronze medal in the 49er class at the World Championships in the USA.

The world number six pair went into the final race of the series in sixth place but victory saw them beat their previous best of fourth place in the 2013 event. 

The world's best swimmers will face up to seven anti-doping tests in the run up to August's Rio Olympics.

The International Swimming Federation (Fina) will oversee the initiative after critics said it had not done enough to fight doping.

The testing will mainly be done by leading national anti-doping agencies.

"Fina deserves a lot of credit for embracing the voice of clean athletes," said United States Anti-Doping Agency (Usada) boss Travis Tygart.

Britain, with a bit of luck, could soon have two world heavyweight champions.

It has been announced that Anthony Joshua will fight reigning champ Charles Martin for the IBF world heavyweight title at London's O2 Arena on 9 April.

American Martin, 29, has won 23 and drawn one of his 24 fights and beat Vyacheslav Glazkov for the vacant IBF belt in January. Joshua, 26, most recently beat Dillian Whyte with a seventh-round knockout to claim the British heavyweight title.

Fellow Brit Tyson Fury holds the WBA and WBO belts and is set to face Wladimir Klitschko in a rematch in May or June.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini will not face action from the Football Association over his comments about referee Mark Clattenburg.

Pellegrini expressed his frustration with Clattenburg after City's 2-1 defeat to Tottenham.

Pellegrini told the BBC after the game: "It was a penalty that Clattenburg wanted to sign for and he gave the sign. It was absolutely the wrong decision."

Michel Platini says that he is fighting not for his future but "against injustice" after arriving at his appeal hearing on Monday.

Platini, 60, was banned for eight years by the world governing body's ethics committee in December, as was president Sepp Blatter.

Manchester City Women have signed Republic of Ireland defender Megan Campbell. 

The 22-year-old has spent the past three years playing for Florida State University on a sports scholarship.

Campbell, who has won 33 international caps, is City's fourth addition for the forthcoming season.
