Sethy: No-one can top Christian Gross surely?

Steve Wright: Given huge money to spend, Mark Hughes failed to deliver not just at Man City but at QPR too!

A few more lines from Arsene Wenger's news conference earlier, with the the Arsenal boss saying the Premier League title race is far from over.

"You don't think like that," he said when asked whether the FA Cup is now Arsenal's most realistic chance of silverware. "The Premier League is far from being over.

"Just to remind you, we have beaten Leicester twice so we have done our job against them.

"People have to look at other teams more, not just us on that front. We will not give up the Premier League, we will fight until the end."

Alan Pardew might be fuming at a dodgy spot kick but it could have been worse...

England's womenlost to Germany in the SheBelieves Cup in the United States after being on the wrong end of a shocker of a penalty decision.

It was 1-1 when German forward Alexandra Popp won a late spot-kick after appearing to kick the foot of England's Fara Williams.

"Two games in a row we have stonewall penalties not given to us and a ridiculous penalty given against us," said furious Lionesses coach Mark Sampson. "The officials aren't good enough."

Rayan De Rapperdic: Would you permit me to say Billy Davies and Paul Jewell, both of them were responsible for relegating Derby in 2008.

Tom Lane: Surely Dowie has to be up there? Relegated with Palace, sacked at Charlton, Relegated with Hull and Newcastle.

Storm Jarvis May: Harry Redknapp. Three of his most recent four Premier League clubs have all been relegated due to his policies.

Bolton Wanderers are back in the High Court today to answer a Revenue and Customs winding-up petition.

The Championship club have twice successfully requested more time to pay the sum owed, believed to be around £3m, the last time on 22 February, minutes after a deal was struck for Dean Holdsworth's Sports Shield consortium to buy the club.

That deal is yet to be confirmed as ratified by the Football League.

Talks are expected to continue up until the point they enter court, which will be some time after 10:30 GMT.

If the deal is not concluded, Bolton could either ask for more time, make payment through funds raised from recent sale of their Euxton training ground to Wigan Athletic, or enter administration, which would trigger a 12-point deduction.

Bolton are bottom of the Championship, 10 points behind fourth-bottom MK Dons.

Arsene Wenger news conferencepublished at 10:40 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2016

Hull City v Arsenal (Tues, 19:45 GMT)

A final few words from Steve Bruce, who's fretting about a fixture pile-up.

"There's a whole raft of teams playing in the Championship on Tuesday, there's a full fixture list," he says.

"If we manage to get through then we will have to move next Saturday too, so it just piles up the fixtures which is a bit of a concern.

"Thankfully the squad that we have got at the moment everybody's fit. Some of the squad haven't played since the first game against Arsenal so it will good for them, people like Maloney and Powell in particular.

"In that respect we will be making changes, yes."

Hull City v Arsenal (Tues, 19:00 GMT)

Hull boss Steve Bruce: "From inside the game you're not going to hear people criticise Arsene Wenger because when you're in management as long as he's done and what he's been able to get at Arsenal then who is anybody to criticise him?

"I find that really appalling. He's built a fantastic squad - he's helped finance it, he's had to sell players. He's never been able to really compete at the top level like anybody else has at a top club yet has kept them in the top four for 17 or 18 years.

"For me you only get one thing, which is respect. He deserves a bit more than what he gets dished out considering what he's achieved.

"It's very difficult to win a title. Manchester United went 20-odd years before they won 10 of them. With the emergence of Chelsea and Manchester City over the last decade then it is very, very difficult.

"It doesn't just come as easy than what it used to."

'Arsenal are excellent team'published at 10:26

Hull City v Arsenal (Tues, 19:00 GMT)

Hull boss Steve Bruce: "Whatever team Arsenal put out, there are international players all over the place in the 25-man squad, they're an excellent team.

"They've had a bit of criticism, which I find ridiculous but then again it's part and parcel as a football manager at the moment. How anybody can criticise him is beyond me with what he's achieved and what he's done.

"I think that typifies them at the weekend - people are criticising them and then they go and respond the way they do, and that's typical Arsenal and typical Arsene Wenger."

Earlier we had Arsene Wenger speaking to the media, now it's the turn of Steve Bruce - the man who will be attempting to end Arsenal's grip on the FA Cup when the sides meet in a fifth round reply at the KC Stadium tomorrow.

"The priority is the league and where we want to get to," says the Hull City boss.

"We want to be playing the Arsenals and the Chelseas every week. But there's nothing quite like an FA Cup tie or FA Cup run. Once it gets to this stage there's all to play for."

Worst Premier League managerspublished at 10:08 Greenwich Mean Time 7 March 2016

    Football

Here's some of the possible contenders for our worst Premier League manager debate - remember we're taking into account who they managed and how much they spent, not just a win percentage.

Roy Keane spent about £75m at Sunderland in the top flight but only won 28% of his Premier League games.

Juande Ramos shelled out £70m at Tottenham, but only won 29%

Mark Hughes spent a remarkable £270m at Manchester City, with the club expecting a better return than a 40% win rate.

    Conor McNamara
    BBC commentator and presenter

"How amazing would it be if we could have heard what Louis van Gaal said to the fourth official before his dramatic dive?"

Greg Lalas of MLS was one of my guests on World Football this week.

He told me about an innovation for the new season that will see coaches on the sidelines obliged to wear microphones for the national TV broadcasts.

"Will the coaches behave themselves? Well, maybe... But we all know that coaches are competitive and fiery. Once the game kicks off they might not be able to control themselves.

"It helps the MLS catch up with the other professional sports leagues in America, where coaches have been mic'd up for many years now.

"This is now part of the gig, if you want to be a coach in the MLS, you're going to have to wear that microphone."

You can hear the interview with Greg - who, you guessed it, is Alexi Lalas' brother... here.

Juan Mata has just posted his weekly blog on kicca.com, external and is talking about getting sent off at West Brom - two bookings in three minutes - as United lost 1-0.

"After almost 500 games as a professional player, I was sent off for the first time in my career. As you can imagine, it’s not easy for me," writes the Reds midfielder.

"I have the feeling that both decisions were rigorous; that, in many occasions, we see more serious fouls that are not penalised in such a way, but at the same time I could have avoided them and I take responsibility.

"It also leaves me with a bad taste for the supporters who travelled to the stadium, and for those who were watching the game from home, but I must carry on as always."

    Erm, so there you go.

Rory McIlroy's challenge at the World Golf Championship in Doral, Florida, came apart at the seams as Australian Adam Scott tied up his second PGA win in as many weeks.

The Northern Irishman finished joint third with England's Danny Willett on 10 under and later admitted his frustration at losing another lead, having led at the Northern Trust Open last month until the final round.

"I've got two events left to try to get that win before going to Augusta [for the Masters, 7-10 April] and I'm hopefully going to get it," he said.
