    Another retirement. This time London Irish second row Nic Rouse is forced to retire from professional rugby because of a shoulder injury.

    The 35-year-old has made 40 appearances for the club since joining from Nottingham in 2013.

    "I'm very disappointed to have to call time on my playing career," Rouse says. "London Irish is a club that is very close to my heart."

    "I have thoroughly enjoyed the last seven months with Yorkshire Carnegie and I would like to thank the coaches, players and supporters for making me feel so welcome.  

    "A number of opportunities have become available to me for life after rugby and I need to make the right decision for me and my family. 

    "However, before then we have got hopefully four massive games ahead of us, starting this Sunday against a very good Doncaster side at Headingley Carnegie."

    Leeds Rhinos legend Kevin Sinfield announces he will retire, external from playing at the end of the rugby union season.

    The 35-year-old switched codes to join Championship side Yorkshire Carnegie after leading the Rhinos to the treble in 2015.

    He will retire after their play-off campaign.

    He captained the Rhinos for 13 years and won seven Grand Finals, three World Club Challenges and two Challenge Cups.

    "So Team GB and Paralympics GB have a new kit ahead of Rio 2016. Interest aplenty in central London with Stella McCartney and a host of athletes on duty for the big reveal.

    "The coat of arms on the kit is getting a big push from manufacturers. It's said to symbolise the coming together of the two teams. Tom Daley's abs got a lot of attention on stage. We will be speaking to him shortly so keep an eye on the BBC Sport Twitter account for an interview.

    Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has decided not to challenge the results of his failed drugs test, according to Press Association Sport. 

    "Press Association Sport understands the France international opted not to request his B sample be tested ahead of Tuesday's deadline after his initial test revealed traces of a fat-burning substance.

    "Sakho was not on the team's flight on Wednesday lunchtime for their Europa League semi-final first leg in Villarreal."

    World number one Mark Selby holds off a spirited challenge by qualifier Kyren Wilson to clinch a 13-8 win and reach the World Championship semi-finals.

    Selby, the 2014 champion, led 10-6 overnight and after Wednesday's opening four frames were shared, he clinched victory with a break of 64.

    Wilson hit a tournament-high break of 143 to get back to 12-8, showing why he is one of the sport's rising stars.

    Selby will play Marco Fu or Barry Hawkins in the last four.

    World number one Laura Massaro beat India's Joshna Chinappa to reach the quarter-finals of the squash Women's World Championship in Malaysia.

    The English top seed, who won the 2013 title, won 11-3 11-6 11-3 and will face Egyptian sixth seed Omneya Abdel Kawy in the last eight.

    Massaro, 32, is into her fifth straight World Championship quarter-final.

    Second seed and eight-time champion Nicol David of Malaysia will play England's Alison Waters in round two.
