    Katherine Grainger is being made to wait before learning whether or not she will be selected for her fifth Olympic Games.

    The British Olympic Association has announced the names of 43 of the 47 rowers to compete for Team GB in Rio in August.

    Grainger, who at London 2012 claimed a first Olympic gold at the fourth attempt after silvers in three prior Games, was seeking selection in the women's double scull with Vicky Thornley but the names to compete in that boat are still to be confirmed.

    The names of two spares are also to be announced.

    If Jonny Evans scores against Poland on Sunday, brother Corry promises to be watching this time. The 28-year-old West Brom defender’s only international goal came against the Poles in a World Cup qualifier in Belfast in 2009.

    “I was at that match at Windsor Park, but missed Jonny’s goal because I had gone to the toilet,” said Corry, a 25-year-old Blackburn Rovers midfielder who is also in the NI squad at Euro 2016.

    “I had to queue up and heard the big cheer. People were saying Jonny Evans had scored and I was gutted I’d missed it.”
