    Jay O'Shea and Lee Novak are understood to be transfer targets for League Two club Portsmouth.

    But, there are obstacles to signing both with Pompey having already made what's believed to be a substantial bid for 27-year-old midfielder O'Shea, who was part of the Chesterfield team manager Paul Cook led to the League One play-offs. 

    Striker Novak is out of contract with Birmingham and after initial negotiations. Pompey had thought they were close to a deal. But, the 27-year-old, who was on loan at Chesterfield last season, has opted to continue talking to other clubs.
