    Gareth Bale plays down the significance of his duel with Real Madrid team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo ahead of Wales' Euro 2016 semi-final against Portugal.

    Their relationship has been the subject of intense media scrutiny, with both insisting there is no rift. The two players will face each other in Lyon on Wednesday, Wales' first semi-final at a major tournament.

    "It's not about two players," says Bale. "Everybody knows that really. It is about two nations in a semi-final, 11 men against 11 men."

    Notts County and England goalkeeper Carly Telford is expected to be out for up to three months due to an ankle injury.

    Telford suffered the injury - a tear of the lateral ankle ligament, as well as a partial tear of the medial ligament - in the final minutes of the first half in Notts County’s 2-1 victory over Doncaster Rovers Belles on 26 June, and will require an operation.

    The news comes a year to the day since England finished third at the World Cup in Canada.

    More on the news we brought you earlier that Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres has signed a new contract.

    The Spain international has agreed to stay for another season after his previous deal expired last week. Former Liverpool and Chelsea player Torres, 32, returned to Atletico, with whom he began his professional career, from AC Milan in 2015.

    He scored 12 goals in 44 games last season for Atletico, who were beaten in the Champions League final by Real Madrid and finished third in La Liga. His strike partner, France international Antoine Griezmann, signed a new deal last week.

    Eight counties have made a 28-day approach for Northamptonshire's Olly Stone, despite the pace bowler being sidelined by a knee injury.

    Stone, 22, is likely to miss the rest of 2016 after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in June.

    He has made 25 first-class appearances, with a bowling average of 30.69.

    "Whether he'll want to see all eight, maybe not. But I'm sure he'll pick out some and see what they've got to say," director of cricket David Ripley told BBC Northampton.

    Portugal have been ordered to pay 7,000 euros (£5,878) following incidents at their Euro 2016 quarter-final with Poland. Charges relating to fireworks being set off and fans invading the pitch were brought against the Portuguese Football Federation after Portugal won 5-3 on penalties.

    BBC gymnastics commentator Mitch Fenner has died at the age of 70.

    Fenner, who had been commentating on gymnastics for the BBC since 1979 - and every Olympic Games since 1984 - had been seriously ill with cancer.

    Barbara Slater, director of BBC Sport, said: "He will be missed by all of us at BBC Sport and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time."

    Here's more about Manchester City's new signing Oleksandr Zinchenko.

    The 19-year-old former Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder featured in all three of Ukraine's matches at Euro 2016, and arrives at the Etihad Stadium from Russian club FC Ufa. 

    Ukraine failed to score a goal in Group C as they lost to Germany, Northern Ireland and Poland.  

    Zinchenko is City's third signing of the summer after Ilkay Gundogan and Nolito.
