    Manchester City 1-0 Dortmund - 88 mins

Raheem Sterling, now sporting a miniature ponytail (not a fan, personally) and summer signing Nolito have come on for Manchester City.

Wilfriend Bony and Yaya Toure have been substituted after 40 minutes of play for them. I think Pep Guardiola has seen enough of both, and should be impressed, in particular, by Bony.

Sergio Aguero finds David Silva, but a bit of summer slack means his pace isn't all there and he's beaten to the ball.

Fernandinho has dropped into the centre of a back three.

Pep Guardiola says he wants the ball moved quickly from defence to midfield.

He also thinks Fernandinho can play in 10 positions.

It will be interesting to see which he eventually chooses for the Brazilian.

    Aguero breaks the deadlock.

Lovely ball through to David Silva on the left hand side who, with his first touch, squares the ball past Roman Burki to find Sergio Aguero. The Argentina forward slots home into an empty net.

    Nice stuff. 1-0.

  6. Chances!published at 14:19 British Summer Time 28 July 2016

    Manchester City 0-0 Dortmund - 77 mins

For the first time in this match, it's hard to understand why we are at 0-0.

Dortmund get in round the back on the right hand side, but the pull back across goal is cleared at the second attempt by the Manchester City back line.

At the other end, Bony breaks into the penalty area on the right, tries to stop the ball dead as a defender runs in, but slips at the vital moment. Silva was available to his left.

Gonzalo Castro then has Dortmund's best chance of the match. Angus Gunn is out quickly to stop the German who fires over the bar.

  8. Bonny future for Wilfried?published at 14:12 British Summer Time 28 July 2016

Manchester City 0-0 Borussia Dortmund - 68 mins

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport in Shenzhen

Wilfried Bony is one of those players whose Manchester City future is uncertain - in fairness it has been that way since his first half season, following a £25m move from Swansea.

He has just produced the best bit of skill in the game though, with a neat turn and shot that forced Hendrik Bonmann into a good save.

And shortly after he received the ball square from David Silva, looking for the top left corner, but fired just over.

When they start a Mexican wave, of course. And that's just happened in Shenzhen.

Wilfried Bony has a nice little turn about 25 yards from goal, fires one, and although spilled by Roman Burki he soon recovers the ball at the second attempt with no pressure on him.

Three more Dortmund changes take to the field as ex-Liverpool player Nuri Sahin departs the field.

  12. Silva to play deeper under Pep?published at 14:00 British Summer Time 28 July 2016

    Manchester City 0-0 Dortmund - 57 mins

That 7-a-side team from earlier have gone and got themselves a game.

Sergio Aguero, David Silva, Wilfried Bony and Yaya Toure are amongst those to come on.

Silva is in the number 10 position.

Given his excellent passing, I wonder if he will end up playing a bit deeper under Pep, where Xavi used to play for Barcelona.

Adrian Ramos breaks into the penalty area but a good sliding challenge by Tosin Adarabioyo sees it behind for a corner.

Thankfully, Manchester City have tweeted all about it (and saved me a job in the process). Some academy lads in there for Pep Guardiola.

We are back underway, with no chances for either side so far.

which phrases or actions would you ban?

Danny Puttock: I'd ban commentators using the words 'sublime' and 'exquisite' when someone does something good

Josh Hadfield: I'd ban centre-backs being referred to as centre-halves. A centre-half is a defensive midfielder who can drop back to make a 3

Rev777: Ban the use of literally when they really mean figuratively. e.g. "He was literally on fire out there today". No he wasn't!

Despite the forecast, the weather is mercifully dry at present and the going is good to firm all over.

The big race of the day is the Goodwood Cup at 15:10 BST but we have just had the traditional annual charity race for ladies, the Magnolia Cup, featuring BBC weather presenter Alexis Green. The race was won by eventer Izzy Taylor on Alketios.

It is some consolation for Taylor, who was ruled out of the Rio Olympics next month after an injury to her horse Allercombe Ellie.
