Sam Allardyce's position with the undercover Telegraph sting was "morally bankrupt" and "totally unacceptable," according to BBC 5 live commentator Alan Green.

Green added: "Yes you can argue he has broke no law but the sheer greed exhibited, when he was already on £3m per year, chasing another £400,000, when he hadn't taken charge of a game, beggars belief.

"What was he thinking about? It was an atrocious misjudgment."

Kenya's team leader at the Rio Olympics has been charged with stealing $256,000 (just under £200,000), money prosecutors say was for officials' and athletes' stay at the games.

Stephen Arap Soi, the Kenya chef de mission in Rio, has denied five charges relating to the alleged theft of the money and is accused of taking $234,000 (£180,000) on a flight from Kenya to Brazil on July 20 without declaring it to customs officials. Prosecutors say that money was not accounted for at the Olympics.

Soi was charged with stealing the remainder in smaller amounts on separate occasions. Two other officials, national Olympic committee of Kenya vice president Pius Ochieng and secretary general Francis Kinyili Paul, denied charges of stealing team uniforms provided by sponsor Nike.

During the Games, Kenyan athletes expressed anger after being stranded in a Rio shanty town where gunshots could be heard.

Who should become England's next permanent manager?

The Optimist: Rafa Benitez will be a perfect replacement for Big Sam. He knows the game very well from the grassroots level.

Barry Kane: Amazed at the lack of shouts for Hoddle. The last manager we had that had a strategy, game plan and respect of the country.

Matt Flecknoe: Let's get Klinsmann in, England cricket team got an Aussie in and it's worked! So let's have a German manager in charge of the footy team.

Were they drunk? Weren't they drunk?

West Ham will investigate claims that Andy Carroll and Darren Randolph were drunk on Tuesday afternoon.

This comes after pictures surfaced of the pair on social media, after a club-sanctioned night out on Monday.

England striker Carroll was fairly busy on Twitter throughout the day, but it's fairly hard to see whether his cryptic tweets back up or play down the rumours.

However, West Ham have clearly seen enough, with a spokesman saying: "The club will be looking into these allegations and will deal with the players as we see fit."

The club have lost five of their six Premier League games this season.
